Well, to change the subject a little bit, there is a rumor going around that Terrance Robinson is about to transfer. Kind of understandable, given that he was passed up on the depth chart by Roundtree, and Odoms was ahead of him already. And, the likelyhood of Gallon coming in and making a splash immediately is pretty good. On the flip side, I've read a lot about the likelyhood of RR using two slots in some variation this year, which will need greater depth. Oh, and Kelvin Grady has been fairly impressive in practice from what I've heard/read. If the rumors are true, I'd hate to see a kid so young go, especially with a skillset like T. Robinson's. The best of luck to him if true.

Yes, the benefits of knowing 5 teachers, three of which I am blood related. The school must submit a ton of paperwork; basically a portfolio of the kid on why he should be given his diploma despite not passing the OGT. The state decides on a case-by-case basis. So, to those who say he did not graduate, you are wrong. He did not pass the OGT, but he still graduated from HS, which is the only thing that was holding the NCAA up from clearing JT to play.

But to be perfectly clear, anybody who fails to pass the OGT must be categorized as an academic stretch. UM has always argued they don't go there. I wont deny that OSU has. Just quit playing that silly "Harvard" card. UM is (and for my money always has been) ready to compromise for victories as much as Alabama or FSU or anyone else. And that makes the 8 at the end of that 3-8 look just as bad as the 8 at the end of anyone else's record. Those are "real" losses - not "well, if we weren't the Harvard of the West" losses.

As for T-Rob, he was never healthy, and might not have played much with Odoms, Gallon, Stokes and anyone else they roll out there.

I agree with you on that. I honestly hate when UM fans bring that stuff up, like it really even matters. Yeah, you can get a great education ANYWHERE, or you can clown around and flunk out ANYWHERE. Anyway, I just think it's stupid for UM fans to spout off at the mouth the achievements of students in defense of student-athletes. Damn near every school makes exceptions, especially for athletes as talented as JT.

Agreed. I've taken the OGT and if you can't pass it on the first, hell even the second attempt, you have no right to be in high school at all. It's in all honesty, an 8th grade proficiency test.

I'm glad the kid can go to school for free. Wish I could. What bothers me is that he had such a good GPA and he couldn't pass the test. Something isn't right there..

The amazing thing about these transfers is how automatic it seems that guys with injury/PT situations get out of Ann Arbor ASAP: at other schools there are a lot of guys who are invested in the program and will stick it out even as a backup, but I guess playing for a Dick like Rod isn't worth the effort if you're not starting for scUM.
