after the egss laid in week 1 by IU, Illinois and Iowa you seriously have to wonder if they can make a Bowl. Purdue and Northwestern beat outmatched opponents the way you are supposed to but Purdue has to go deal with Oregon in Autzen this week after they were embarrassed on national TV so we're going to get an idea on them real quick.

Actually Wisconsin pulled an OSU. They were up 28-6 with 10-11 minutes to go and let their opponent jump back into the game with mental mistakes and interesting call by their staff.

I dont think a Soph RB gaining 234 yards and two TDs on the ground in his first collegiate start an embarrassment. Nor do I think Elliot having a great day with a 140.64 passer rating, 220 yards, 3 TDs in his first starting season an embarrassment. Also throw in their second string running back having 81 yards and three TD's, a defense that allowed only 70 yards rushing, 8 receivers that caught the ball, and a team that was up by two TDs heading into the 4th.

I don't see second tier teams like Kansas St who beat UMass by only 4, WVU who beat Liberty by only 13, or Wake Forest (top 25 team last year) who lost to Baylor getting as much pub as our lower echelon Big Ten teams. All this talk about the Big Ten being down and bad has went from being words to words that actually skew the final scores.

I think he meant Oregon was embarrassed on national tv, not Purdue.

I still stand by the fact that with all the talk about the Big Ten being down, not much focus is going on other leagues second and third tier teams and their struggles.

Okay, let's play.

Illinois: 2-5 going into their game with Michigan, needing to win 4 of 5. Losses to Missouri (done), Penn State, MSU, Purdue and OSU at that point. No bowl.

Indiana: EKU, WMU, Akron, Virginia, and I don't see any other winnable games. No bowl.

Iowa: UNI, Arkansas State, Arizona, Indiana, then need to beat two out of Iowa State in Ames, Northwestern and Minnesota in Kinnick Stadium. Very doable, welcome to Motor City.

Michigan: Three non-conference wins, plus Indiana. Need to win two on the road, probably. At Iowa, at Wisconsin, at Illinois. PSU and OSU at home are guaranteed losses, as is @East Lansing. Bowl bubble.

Michigan State: 8-9 wins jump right out, even without beating ND. In.

Minnesota: Gets Illinois, Purdue and Wisconsin at home, needs two, or a win on the road at Iowa. Seven wins would be solid. In.

Northwestern: Hard to see a fifth win here, never mind six. No bowl.

Ohio State: Looks like a ten win schedule and possible BCS game.

Penn State: Soft as butter. No way they should lose any game other than OSU, who they get at home. Could easily run the table. BCS lock.

Purdue: Tough non-conference, relatively. Lots of key road games in B11 play and they need to pick up a couple -- Minnesota, Wisconsin or MSU in West Lafayette. They'll be in great shape if they catch Oregon in a funk. Bowl probable.

Wisconsin: Four non conference wins, plus Indiana, then all they have to do is beat anyone. Definite bowl.

In summary -- OSU, PSU, MSU, Wisconsin are locks, Purdue and Minnesota are probable, Michigan and Iowa are maybes, Indiana, Northwestern and Illinois aren't happening. I see six to eight, and if things don't go well ooc over the next two weeks, it could go as low as five, despite pathetic scheduling.

Really, looking at B11 schedules is a flat embarassment, outside of a few key games. Purdue is showing some stones going to Oregon, OSU has one good opponent, PSU has nothing, Minnesota plays Cal and...and...what's left? Three teams play Notre Dame. Woo.

Even with only six teams, there's a couple in there I'd rather not see in a bowl, and I certainly don't want to see eight, never mind nine. Illinois killed the nine team scenario by losing to Mizzou.

I don't think any game on our schedule is a guaranteed loss. We are a very young, inexperienced team, but I think that we have the talent to play with and beat anybody on our schedule.

Ohio State is not as good as you think they are. In fact, they have many weaknesses, especially a glaring one in the offensive line, as evidenced against Navy, and USC is about to wipe the floor with them come Saturday.

WMU is twice the team as anyone left on the UM schedule..you are sure to go undefeated. Enjoy the rest of the season while shouldering those expectations.

If you believe NW is not making a bowl game you need to watch their team...they are gon na make a bowl game. They do not play us this year and thats a bonus for them. They can beat Illinois, Indiana, and Purdue hands down.

Watch some games. I keep hearin g people talk that haven't watched any games...quit looking at the box scores and then commenting. NW has seriously improved.

Quit beating your chest. It was a depleted WMU team. Wait until after next week to make any assumptions about that traveling midget circus you all call a football team up there. I do not think you will be so happy come Saturday afternoon.

As far as OSU is concerned, your "assessment" of next week's game seems to be WAY off from what the experts are saying. I would say that it is going to be a good game, and I do think OSU will win. Homer? Maybe. Did I watch both teams play? Yes and I think they will match up pretty evenly on both sides of the ball.

Basically, you need to quit being an asswipe and bring something constructive to the board or just leave.



Oh, and in case you are wondering, your "team" is playing ND next week. Some of your posts in here prove to me that you don't know your head from your ass, so I thought I would point that out for you.
