You know how I know the B12 is down? Because TT can hang with you guys. That's the barometer. Every since the '02 season when we hammered TT and went on to a NC season, I've been using that game as a barometer to see if anyone in the b12 has a NC caliber defense. Well, you don't. Dominant D's don't allow a first year guy to throw 150 yds in one quarter. Sorry.
Every OSU fan on this board would tell you that this year's defense is VASTLY improved over last year's. That's why your argument makes no sense. To be honest, the defenses during the '06-'08 clip played uncharacteristically poor by OSU's historical standards, especially in big games. Almost every Buckeye fan will tell you that.
Your conference ticks me off tremendously. There's nothing you can say to change that.

I honestly don't remember. It's been a while since i've posted consistently here but I don't remember ever arguing with anybody on BP. This is a pretty classy bunch around here. Now no telling what I might have said to someone on bucknuts or hineygate over at scout. And for all the subpar performances by Big 12 teams would you care to remind me what the big 10 went this past bowl season?
You say my argument makes no sense but you are citing a game played in 2002?
This just seems to be a case of you taking out your frustration with the national perception of the Big 10 conference out on another conference. I have never bought into that "the big 10 is slow" crap and I thought Ohio State fans better than anyone else would know better than to be so quick to believe these media driven ideas.
For all the yards Tech got on offense last night how much did they score? And how well did our defense play considering they were on the field all night against Tech because our offense couldn't sustain a drive to save their lives.
And if you want to start talking about historical standards Texas had some damn good defenses in the Fred Akers era. In 2001 Texas was number 1 overall in total defense. And early in the decade Mike Stoops had some scary defenses at Oklahoma when he was there.
You want to magically omit a few years of play from
OSU's record but want to hold those same few years entirely against the Big 12 conference. It sounds like you are just frustrated and bitter.
