How to tell that your program is not prestigious
You need to host a week night game for people to watch your team. Not sayin just sayin...

This is great stuff, and you should get paid far more than what my 79.99 subscription fee to this site gives you!!
Not trying to be a dick at all but is there an easier way for me to read the table? (with the exception of going to the ESPN Boards) |

Was 95 talented on Offense? You bet. Was the 95 D in the same league as 02? Not a [censored]ing chance. Had Mo C been healthy all year, '02 would've [censored]ed most teams up. The "luckeye" lable wouldn't be so prevalent, since most idiots only pay attention to offensive statistics when determining how worthy a given team is. |

The 2002 team was incredibly talented as well--every defensive starter was an NFL draft pick. I haven't heard that fact about many other teams. Popular sentiment (especially from fans of our Big Ten rivals) is that the 2002 team wasn't that talented and simply lucked into a NC. The facts simply don't support that position.

People say the 97 Michigan team was a fluke. That team beat 7 ranked teams and 4 top ten teams at the time that year. That was probably the toughest schedule Michigan had in a long time. The same reason people knock that 02 buckeye team is because Michigan didn't have an offense that was explosive. Michigan only scored 30points or more in 3 games....here is the kicker........ That Michigan defense only gave up 20+ points in one game the whole year and held 7 teams to 10 points or less. Opponents average score for the year was 9.5 points per game. That defense had 20 interceptions and only gave up 3 touchdown passes. That secondary was one of the best if not the best I have seen. Charles Woodson, Marcus Ray, Andre Weathers, and Tommy Hendricks. That was when Michigan had a defense that scared the [censored] out of people. Now that sorry defense makes average players look like Heisman candidates. |
