Duke +9.5 at N Carolina (ov/un 42.5)
Duke is one of only 2 ACC teams with only one conference loss.
And their QB, Thaddeus Lewis, has as many passing TDs (15) as Colt McCoy, with half the number of interceptions (4 vs. 8). |

Just wanted to point out that Duke needs 7 wins to be bowl eligible this year (despite what ESPN has said a couple of times this week), since their win over NC-Central doesn't count. NC-Central is a provisional member making the transition into FCS (old 1-AA), and they don't give out enough schollies to have a win over them count.
An FBS team can count 1 win over an FCS team each year toward bowl eligibility, as long as that FCS school has issued at least 90% of its football scholarship over its previous 2 years. (63 is the schollie limit for FCB schools). So if they had beaten Richmond, they'd only need 1 more win. I'm sure all of the Duke football fans reading this board are glad to have that cleared up. ![]() |
