Hart's Condition
Did we ever get an official report on Hart's leg? Was he just banged up or was it something more serious? that will have a big impact on that Nov 20 game. The backup isn't bad, but a Hart-less Henne will be far less dangerous.

Unofficial report
The unofficial report was that he just bruised up his thigh. He did play one series after the injury and with a bye week he should be close to 100% by the Northwestern game in Ann Arbor on 11/13.

3 straight games with 200 yards - if we hold him under 100, we win.

The negative sounding newbie does make a good point.
The way that Schlegel has been playing for us lately, I don't think that we'll have a repeat performance of the Iowa dabacle. Either way. It's the scUM o-line that we need to worry about. They're the ones that should get credit for all of the yards that the plug and play scUM freshman are racking up.

Agreed. A lot of Hart's runs are through holes I can run through. But I do say that he runs through a lot of arm tackles as well. He is a very gifted runner.
The battle will be won in the trenches and tackling. Our DL must control the line which we have struggled with this year. We must tackle well against Hart as well or it might be a long day. The difference between great defenses and just good defensed is tackling. Great defenses make the first tackle while others don't.

Hart hopping on one leg would eat Lydell Loss for lunch.

I was looking at the box score of the PSU game and I thought it was encouraging for our run defense that Green and Pitcock were 3rd and 4th in total tackles behind Hawk and Schlegal. I think they both had 7 or 8 total. Maybe some of the defensive line is starting to come around. What does worry me is Carpenter has disappeared since the 3rd game of the year.
