I think you can paint the endzones with the National's logo.

As much as I've always thought that Steve Superior was an egomaniacal jerk, I'm happy with this hiring. He'll improve USC to be a real contender in the SEC East. That means that Tennessee, Georgia, Florida, and South Carolina will all beat each other up each year. If they all get 2 losses, that gives tOSU a better shot at the BCS.
But I did like Stevie's "You can't spell Citrus without UT" dig at the Tennecheats a few years ago. |

This does make the SEC East a tougher division. It'll be great to see Georgia go back to being the doormat.

As to the Augusta National membership, why else would he take the South Carolina job?

Clemson fans must be ticked... also this will prob. hurt Amato and NCSU as well... now there is a serious player in the Carolina's... maybe he can get a few kids out of Florida and hurt the three Florida schools as well...
Plenty of golf courses in that part of the woods... sounds like a fit to me... |

If Spurrier can do there what Richt has done at UGA and keep the majority of the talent in-state, he'll be in good shape. Clemson is about as good as it's ever going to be, but SC can be much better.

South Carolina apparently played an ineligible JC transfer at DB in every game last year. The NCAA is suspending him for the first 3 games in 2006.
sportsline COLUMBIA, S.C. -- South Carolina safety Brandon Isaac will have to sit out the first three games this season after a mistake was made determining how many credits he transferred from junior college. The senior had been expected to start this season after playing in all 12 games in 2005. But Isaac was actually ineligible last year because the university incorrectly gave him credits which were then used to certify him eligible to play. University officials said the school has put new rules in place to make sure the mistake doesn't happen again. The NCAA ruled playing Isaac when he was not eligible was a secondary violation and declared him ineligible for the first three games in 2006. |
