Then again, some say each is the only way...

If Les Miles goes to scUM, i have a feeling Dantonio will be on the list for replacements. Very solid coach.

Imagine that, I wouldn't want my university represented like that.

I'm sorry but taking a backhanded swipe at a team you aren't even playing in the post game presser after a loss to Vandy ruins your season is nothing but a lack of class. Tsun Tzu doesn't say you should be an ass all of the time, just in controlled situations.

Totally classless, too bad SC won't play tOSU this year, I would like to see JT go schedule these bastards for a home & home.

This should be a good hire for the 'Cocks. VanGorder's name has been tossed around for some head coaching jobs lately.

News briefs: Spurrier hires Falcons LB coach VanGorder
COLUMBIA, S.C. -- Steve Spurrier brought in new leaders to fire up South Carolina's defense and special teams. The Ol' Ball Coach put himself on notice to improve, too.
Spurrier hired Atlanta Falcons linebacker coach Brian VanGorder as defensive coordinator Wednesday, one day after adding Maryland special teams wiz Ray Rychleski for South Carolina's special teams.
VanGorder takes over for Tyrone Nix, who left for Ole Miss earlier this month. Rychleski replaces Fred Chatham, who was not retained by Spurrier.
The changes come after a season that started promising and turned sour. South Carolina started 6-1 and ended the season on a five-game losing streak littered with breakdowns on defense and special teams.
Spurrier met with VanGorder on Tuesday and the two agreed on a three-year contract. Spurrier did not want to provide VanGorder's salary, although he's said during the search whomever he hired would earn more than Nix's package of $195,000.

S.C. to give Spurrier bonus if he stays
COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) -- Steve Spurrier has another reason to stick around South Carolina.
The university's Board of Trustees approved a tax-deferred retirement package Friday for Spurrier's contract that would pay the football coach $1 million if he remained with the Gamecocks the next four seasons.
The money would accrue in installments of $250,000 the next four years and would be given to Spurrier if he's still at South Carolina by Dec. 31, 2011. Spurrier would forfeit the package if he left the school before then.
Spurrier makes about $1.75 million a year. He was given a one-year contract extension and a raise of about $500,000 after the 2006 season when the Gamecocks finished with three straight victories, including wins over rival Clemson and Houston in the Liberty Bowl.

Article written in a blog on FoxSports.com about Spurrier "Losing It?"
Steve Spurrier losing it? • Straight Talk From the Left Coast - FOX Sports Blogs
This is getting more ridiculous by the minute, and no one is to blame but Steve Spurrier, head coach of the South Carolina Gamecocks.
Once again, Stephen Garcia, the #1 recruited quarterback in the SEC (and other elite universities) has gotten into trouble with police.
He and two other players were found with coolers of alcohol outside their dorm room at 6:30 pm and cited for underage drinking.....
