Maybe yes, maybe no. I'd sure be willing to go see an NC game in the shoe, with or without the Buckeyes.

My point is that if it is to be a national championship series then there has to be some sense of a level playing field.

Anyone playing USC in the Rose Bowl gives the Trojans one hell of a leg up. Same, same Miami, FSU, Florida, any SEC team in the Orange, Citrus, Sugar Bowl. Those are all venues where those teams have a following within driving distance and support from other schools' fans from their league.

Look at the 97 game, are you telling me there weren't at least twice as many ASU fans there as we had? How is that fair?
And just maybe U Miami will have to develope something beyond a homefield fan base, a few fans that will follow them wherever they play, in order to remain competitive.

The priorities go in order, so 1 vs 2 would trump the guarantee for the teams in the Top 6 from the smaller conferences, which trump the top 6 rule for the major conferences.
