Alternatives to Time Warner cable in Columbus?
To put it quite bluntly, I'm tired of TW's [censored]. I'm tired of having to call their customer service line because I get my bill after it's already due, and I'm tired of their unreliable cable internet. I don't think I've ever had two weeks of problem-free internet access. All they give me are temporary fixes. Do I get a cheaper bill? Hell no. I've had enough of them.
I live in an apartment, so satellite is not an option. I did a google search and found some other cable companies in Columbus, but I don't know anyone who uses these other companies. Basically, if you live in Columbus and don't use TW, what do you use, and are you happy with it?
Thanks in advance for the help. Hopefully I don't already have the most reliable cable service in the area...

I have TW on Frambes and don't have a problem with it. Wonder if it's your equipment. But I'm switching to WOW next year for BTN and I suggest you do the same. It's a little cheaper and I haven't heard any horror stories like other cable companies

It's not my equipment, I've had the service people here numerous times and my parents are having similar troubles. They (my parents) are just more patient, and they don't use the internet much.
Either way, I'm tired of their [censored] that's not related to unreliable internet.
How reliable is WOW's cable internet? Like I said, I don't know anyone who uses anything other than the definition of evil. Err.. Time Warner.
EDIT: I guess I should say it shouldn't be my equipment. When the first tech came he referred to the cable TV boxes as the OCRAP boxes (they're called OCAP) and said that the internet modems weren't much better. Sad when the people they're paying and giving free cable/internet to hate it as well.

My g/f has WOW here on Woodruff and has never had any problems with it. Her parents also have it and I haven't heard them complain about it once.
Here's their website:

Just make sure they are available where you live. Even though it was available on Woodruff, for some reason I couldn't get it on Frambes.

Thanks for the information.
Here's a nice little tidbit.
I was talking to one of their reps on the phone and I told them about my problem. He told me to reset the modem, to which I responded with "I have done this multiple times." Apparently, that was irrelevant, because I had to do it again. It's no [censored]ing different than it was before the reset. I called them for a permanent fix (maybe a home visit, or new equipment, something other than a "LOL RESET UR MODEM DUMMY").

I have WOW, and have had it for two years now. I have not had any real problems, and when I have they have been helpful in getting it fixed. My brother in law also has WOW, and the only problem he had was during the initial set up. Evidently they sent him soem dumbass to set things up, but since then he has not had any problems.
The internet, you get to choose 5 different speeds, and prices vary based on that. In the two years that I have had them, I have had to reset the modem maybe twice, and once was after a power surge in the apt. This is compared to when I had time warner and I felt that it was at least once a week that I was resetting the modem.
