True, but that's generally how cell phones are bought. Many user upgrades take a step back in call quality... my old e815 was great.

Verizon to Offer Wireless in Its New Quad-Play Bundle

Today Verizon announced that customers in the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic markets will be able to choose from a selection of new quad-play bundles that package together wireless, wireline, broadband Internet and TV services (either FiOS or DirecTV) on one bill. The basic FiOS-based bundle includes the 450-minute Nationwide wireless plan, Freedom Essentials voice service, FiOS Internet service with speeds of up to 15/5 Mbps and FiOS TV Essentials service for $135 per month with a one-year agreement. Customers in the aforementioned regions can call customer service to sign up for the new bundles.

Many such phones have marginal call quality (the e815 was great!), but fortunately people I converse with tell me my BlackBerry Curve (and the Moto Q before it) has excellent voice quality. All Verizon, of course, since I don't have the luxury of telling clients I can't hear them when I travel to BFN.

AT&T Suing Verizon Because "Map" Ad Is Confusing to Dumb People (and Lawyers) - 3G - Gizmodo

How about investing in a competitive network instead of suing people who expose your weaknesses?

I guess they've got to try something before their iBellcow - and last roadblock stopping Verizon from becoming a monopoly - comes to Big Red.

Does the map up top better resemble the one in blue and yellow (but not green), which shows broadband, aka 3G? Or the one in red, which shows voice and messaging?

I read over this on gizmodo, the reason ATT seems [censored]ed is because they feel the ad makes it look like they don't have phone service in other areas. However, the add is accurate for full 3G max speed coverage. It is what it is, but good luck ATT, reminds me of when McDonalds sued Burger King when I was a kid because of the "Whopper Beats the Big Mac" ad campaign they ran.

Guilty as charged, I have been playing with it all day. On my blackberry, I utilized a lot of googles applications so the migration is pretty easy. It's heavily integrated to a google account, the music player seems cool, the widgets add some cool functionality to some of the applications, like the ability to add control buttons for your media player to the home screen. After playing with it for a bit, it's odd that it would be compared to the iphone. Google seems to have decided to go after a different market, as opposed to be a music downloading, tv-show syncing, media machine, google went more with the idea of being completely integrated with their cloud and other online services.

It has an easy to use media player, and a [censored]ing awesome screen, but no sync with a popular media player, and even though there is a link to the amazon music store, it's not really pushed like itunes is.

Again this is my impression after one day, and it's also based on my needs.

They don't attack the phone, they attack the network. Even in it the misfits commercial, they say its a cool phone, why are you here? The map shows up. The latest rumor out there has a smaller iPhone coming to VZW. They're being pretty careful to attack AT&T, not the iPhone. Setting up marketing campaign to differentiate themselves if they get the iPhone.
