Declarative and hopelessly obvious commentary concluded, we now move to the post text-messaging world of college recruiting. With digital means excluded, coaches will have to revisit the world of analog signals transmission. A few of our suggestions follow:

NCAA passes text message ban
Coaches must return to old ways of reaching out to recruits
BY MICHAEL MAROT | THE ASSOCIATED PRESS
INDIANAPOLIS - The NCAA's board of directors approved a ban Thursday to eliminate all text messages from colleges coaches to recruits beginning in August, then left open the possibility of revisiting that legislation as early as 2008.
"One of the abuses that was described to us were text messages from a coach to a player saying, 'Call me,' " Division I vice president David Berst said on a conference call.
A recruit still could message a college coach, although the coach could not respond under the new rule.

WOW... That's huge... This will have a big effect nationwide...
NCAA coaches are resourceful creatures though... They'll just find some other way to do things...

Although Pryor would like to see the new rule modified, even he admits the text messages can be annoying. One day, he got a text message from every member of one college coaching staff. He wouldn't reveal the staff, but said their school will not be one he considers.

I wonder what staff it was? Especially after the "rumor" Wad posted.
