Normal redshirts aren't "granted"....only medical reshirts have to be requested and subsequently be granted because it waives the requirement that a player not have played in that season. The reason why there was a discussion on Homan and Wilson is because they both played in 2007 (to which Homan got his medical redshirt) which prevented them from redshirting the "normal" way...

Is there any chance that Rose, Amos and Wilson could be granted an additional year by the NCAA for their significant lose of playing time due to injuries. I would imagine that Amos and Wilson have a good chance due to their well documented injuries, but IIRC Rose has also lost much of a season due shoulder problems. Anyone?

In all likelihood this is going to be Wilson's last year. Last year would've been his had he not suffered an injury.

This will be the fifth year that Wilson and Amos have been on campus. At some point, players would want to move on with their lives. I can see a fifth year, but a sixth year? iffy.

This is Rose' fourth year. Not sure about him.

I believe Rose does not qualify for a medical redshirt. Amos does, and Wilson doesn't. I am saying this out of the top of my head using the knowledge of when they played. Someone needs to confirm this.

I'm not sure if Wilson would qualify for a med for this past season, but in '07, he was injured in the first game, and didn't play again that year. I don't know if you can truly confirm a med until it's approved by the NCAA, but Wilson's '07 season should be a gimme, if they choose to petition (and I believe one generally wouldn't petition until regular eligibility is used up). But, as TB said earlier, Wilson's probably gone after this year, barring any other snags (knock on wood).

If Wilson plays in 2009, it will be his 5th year in the program. 2 of those years, he played. 2007, he didn't play after the 1st game, and I expect a medical RS to be taken. 2008, he did play and broke his other leg. I'm pretty sure 2008 counts as a year of full eligibility though. Check Mili's post here for further info on this.

Question.. why is John Simon listed as an end on the chart? Is there something I don't know? I can understand Willie a little bit but to me Simon at DT is about as clear cut as it gets.

Is Torrence going to stay at CB this year, or do you think he will be moved back to WR at some point? He is currently listed as WR on the chart.

Additionally, I cannot remember what was decided regarding Sabino's number. Is it 6 or 11? He is currently listed as 6 on the chart, but he is 11 on OSU's website.
