Actually, Thump, I don' t think it's a good point.. Have you forgotten that the original post was merely the positing of an article that is "newsworthy" in the recruiting game - which I might add, is one of the main points of this board's existence.

I'm referring to all of the ND/ Weis discussion/ bashing as a whole on this site.
Hopefully it'll die down when the season starts.

Well, the fat jokes are played, I'll give ya that... I just don't believe this thread is a good .. well.. it may be since the DJ arrived.. indicator of the point you're trying to make. It's a legit recruiting story, and its certainly appropriate on a site that follows recruiting as we do.

I agree that this thread is appropriate but it inevitably turns into blah blah blah...

FWIW.....
In a statement released through Clemson sports information director Tim Bourret, Cumbie stood by his claim that Notre Dame compared the education levels at the two schools, but appeared to back off the characterization of the ND coaching staff's tone.
"In an article in the Charleston (S.C.) Post Courier earlier this week I was quoted as saying that Notre Dame recruiters had said Clemson's education was horrible," Cumbie said Thursday. "I did not characterize our conversations properly in that interview.
"No one from Notre Dame, either in writing or in general conversation, said Clemson had a horrible education. Notre Dame made a comparison in different areas between the two schools and the facts made Notre Dame look better. One of the areas was education. I am sure everyone makes comparisons during the recruiting process. It didn't bother me at all.
"No one from Notre Dame did anything wrong in their recruitment and I wish them the best this season."
<HR SIZE=7>No further comment on the post cards....but he certainly did not take them off the table.
No matter what actually happened, or didn't happened, CW's response to the situation cemented my belief that he is arrogant and crass. Further, it remains my opinion that this is going to hurt him at the college level if he doesn't tone it down.
The discussion went way beyond this...but personally this was my point all along and the ND fan doing most of the posting already acknowledged CW is an arrogant ass at times. OK, I added the ass part, but he agreed none the less.
Before you Irish fans get all worked up...I said this is my opinion. Don't pretend YOUR opinion is gospel and mine is less valuable than yours...some ND fans have a nasty habit of presenting their opinion as fact and discounting any opposing views as baseless drivel....spare us both a marathon journey down that path.

Big surprise there. Although, I am sure more than a few of you still subscribe to the contrary.
