With all of the reviews of Posey this week, I can't figure out how he isn't listed as a starter.

By Jardy...talks about the existing WR corp at OSU and where he sees himself fitting in. Posey's coach talks about what makes him such a complete WR.

This is just a bit off topic and may have been covered earlier in the thread, but I was curious what everyone thinks about Posey's friendship with Chad Johnson.
Chad is starting to fall out of favor with some Bengals fans due to some of his comments about wanting to be traded this offseason and his celebrations rub many the wrong way. Also, though he is a great player he may not be the best role model for an impressionable 17 year old kid because sometimes he seems to put himself before the team.
On the other hand, I think it may have really helped Posey's confidence that one of the NFL's best showed up for his signing. That is one of the little things that might help when you show up at the AA game for example and there are other star high schoolers there. Had to have given him a little street cred with guys like Patrick Johnson, Etienne Sabino and some of the south Florida guys, where Chad is pretty much a god. Plus, Chad has worked very hard to get where he is. Hopefully, he was able to impart some of that work ethic into Devier.

Read early interviews about where Devier was and what he has gone thru and how hard he has worked, and that leads me to believe along with JT and coaching staff keeping him grounded that he isn't going to let success go to his head...I don't think Chad has either as he had hard times to fight thru as well, it is just his personality that gets the best of him sometimes...He is flamboyant, very unlike Devier from what I have collected from interviews and hearing personal reports...

Nice post. I am a Browns fan and therefore not a fan of Chad Johnson, but I see him this way. Chad has "the life." He's living the dream of playing the game he loves for boatloads of cash and is having fun doing it. Watching Chad's antics, to me anyway, are somewhat refreshing. Chad makes you forget about the "business" end of the game. He's a young guy who is out there to entertain, and does a great job doing it, love him or hate him.
Peace.

DeVier is having surgery on his shoulder today. He has a partially torn labrum, and they are just going to reconnect it, but is expected to recover in time for anything important.
