It's a little troubling that a HS kid with all that size (which is odd) can't push people around. I see him as being a solid contributor and perhaps eventually as a starter. However, I don't think he is going to be a dominant force at the tackle position.

Yeah, and every school in the nation would give him a scholarship. Shocking you have such negative rep. Honestly, do you just like it and post to get bad rep. Essentially you are a sadomasocistic rep whore.

bucklifer is entitled to his/her opinions...no matter how ridiculous the rest of us may think they are (and that one is reaching new levels)...
I don't put a lot of stock in recruiting services rankings but Simon looks to be a high 4-star or even 5-star by both services. Couple that with the fact that almost every college in America was in on Simon since last year and I think that speak volumes to his talents and potential...at least more so than the opinion of a poster on an Internet site...

I watched the Mooney vs Coldwater game on TW on demand (if you have time warner digital, I think you may get this channel 1111, go to sports, there are 4-5 Mooney games you can watch) Simon has loads of potential, he has good size, is very athletic and seems to have a good motor, seldom giving up on a play. The things he lacks (playing a little high) are coachable, the sky is the limit for him.
We have to remember Simon next year if we have some recruiting disappointments as we tend to forget about the early commiting studs.

By Jardy...article about Simon and Homan committing to OSU so early in the process and how both watched other get recruited by OSU and got comfortable with the staff (Simon-McCarthy/Zordich, Homan-older brother Ross).

question
Hey folks,
first time posting on this site even though I read it a lot. I really appreciate how knowledgeable and respectful the posters are here. I live in California now, so I never see any of these Ohio high schoolers play in person. My question about Simon is how much bigger can he get? I've seen pictures of him, and for a kid this young, he looks like a grown man. Do you all think he will put on additional weight and will be lining up at defensive tackle at OSU? Thanks in advance for your responses.

I think he could put on the weight, however personally, I would love to see hime 15 or 20 lbs heavier at the end of freshman year as a balanced DE. Between size and speed, could provide a nice switch up

He could be an effective DE but I definetly like him at DT and we are in dire need of DT's, which almost assigns him to DT. I really like his leverage, drive, and burst...I think he has the tools to be a great DT.
