I would take Mewhort. I think he can play all positions on the line besides LT. I also think he has more upside.

O-D has him listed at #5 overall! Buckeye moves: Dorian Bell +3 Johnny Simon +10 Melvin Fellows -10 Jamie Wood -6 ---BTW anyone notice that Athlon's consensus list has 8 Buckeye in the Top 100? (Barnett, Whiting, Brown & Fields all slipped in a well as the four listed above) Meanwhile USC has 8 players on my list but only 6 on Athlon's. ![]() Last edited by Muck; 07-15-2008 at 06:15 AM. |

Linsley has some nasty to his game...but Mewhort has just as much. As Bill Greene said, the kid plays with the same intensity from the opening snap until the final whistle, something that is not always easy over the course of 4 hours for a big man.
What I like about Linsley is his athleticism for his size. Both of these guys can fire off the ball, but Linsley seems to love getting to the second level. As multiple services have said, this kid can demonstrate the reach block to near perfection. |

Yep and I just really like Mewhort. His film blew me away and his frame is spectacular. I feel he is already a solid player with good technique, but still has a lot of room to grow. He could get some serious PT quick imo. I also really like Linsley...he moves really well, is meaner than crap, and is a good sized boy. Honestly, I am stoked about this OL class, especially when we add Hall.
Btw CB40, Burfict is the #3 player, followed by Patrick Hall, who is amazing as well. I think NC is only behind CA in terms of top notch talent. I agree with you 100% on Wood...I think he is a great player, but I had 5 players ahead of him in Simon, Fellows, Barnett, Hall, and Klein. Wood showed up to all of the Rivals events and he showed well, which helped his cause a lot. I believe Simon, Fellows, Barnett, and Klein didn't show up to their combines, which really hurt them. I honestly think if Simon came, he would be a 5 star, being the physical freak he is. Fellows possibly as well. As far as Klein, he didn't show up to combines but mostly, he isn't a combine warrior anyways imo. He is a player that is amazing on film and is always going to show up on Friday nights with big plays. He will probably stay in the 150-200 range and absolutely blow up at OSU. Whiting and Bell get alot of the hoopla, deservingly so, but I personally think Klein could end up being the best on the field, though I'm VERY high on Bell. |

Rivals.com Prospect Rankings
State of Florida rankings. of note: 4. Jamaal Berry 9. Frankie Telfort 10. Orson Charles 18. Brandon Mcgee 42. Trabis Ward 53. Carlos Hyde 56. Vlad Emilien 93. Quan Fletcher 95. Duron Carter By the by, I don't care if it is the banner year of all time in California, there is no way that Cali has as many rivals 5* prospects as Texas, Florida, Georgia, Ohio, and PA combined. Cali has as many 5* prospects as the entire midwest and southest combined. Give me a break. |

Hmm...McGee got ripped off. I've seen the film on many of the guys ahead of him and I'm shaking my head. I don't know why Richardson is rated ahead of Berry...he is a good player, but nearly as explosive as Berry imo. Btw Tsteele, I agree with that to some extent. I think Barkley, Wood, Burfict, and Hall are all 5 stars though. Evans and Carroll...no. I question whether Carroll is even top 100 material and I see Evans in the 80-90 range. Jehranie Boyd deserves Carroll's spot imo.
