Simon hasn't attended close to as many "events" as others have. Once he got that Buckeye offer he had nothing to prove. Services can't grade what they don't see.

Yes, we all understand that. It is conceivable that Bellamy, who seems to be tearing it up on both sides of the ball, Carter and maybe Reid Fragel could get elevated to where they belong eventually, and even Johnny once again, too. We'll see. After all, Rivals got it right in the end w/BigMike, I'll give them credit for that.

Big mover: Rivals.com was on hand to watch him early in 2008 and he proved he?s belongs among the nation?s best skilled players.
|
On Melvin Fellows' move:

Recorded 92 tackles, seven sacks and nine batted passes in 2007. Has struggled some as a senior as teams are running away from him, but he does still have a high ceiling.
|
Further bolstering the notion that more often than not, uncommitted recruits do not sell subscriptions...exceptions to the rule include Corey Brown and Matt Barkley (11 INTs in 5 games). And somehow Jack Lippert and his offers from Pitt, Temple and Buffalo remains at #170 while guys like Simon and Eric Fields drop out of the Top 250 completely.

Honestly the rankings just get sickening eventually. Hall is way too low, Adams is way too low, Marlon Brown is WAY too low, Fellows is WAY too low (and having an unbelievable senior campaign, which Rivals just said he didn't as justification for droping him), and Bell stays the same. In Rivals defense on commited vs. noncommited, Brown is dropping and he is uncomitted. Problem with that is that there is now way on earth he should be dropping any. Simon not even being in the top 250 is astounding...he may have reached an early ceiling (though I don't know about that), but even still he is at bare minimum top 250, and should be top 100. I just can't believe it.

Scout's rankings are much more accurate, imo. Rivals doesn't even have Duron Carter as a 4*.

Kudos to him for being a naturally gifted athlete though.

I think Simon is pretty overrated, at least by Ohio State fans, but dropping him to 3* stars is pretty laughable. I don't think he's a top 100 guy, though...not enough production in high school for someone as big and strong as he is, and I think his frame is about maxed out as.
I'm also not that high on Brown. Big kid who dominates terrible competition, and I think he eventually grows into a TE; however, I'd still welcome him in this class for sure.

Having teams base their offensive game plan around avoiding you does not mean you are struggling.
