was delving more into the oddities in ESPN's rankings and this is how those guys see the state of Ohio this year....
1. Barnett 2. I. Bell 3. Wood 4. Fellows 5. Mewhort 6. Hall 7. Turner 8. Simon 9. Hunter 10. Carradine 11. Linsley 12. Marrow 13. Touissaint 14. Kuechly 15. Penza (kicker) 16. Mason 17. Bobel 18. Golden 19. Fields 20. Davis 21. Simmons (kicker) 22. Coyne 23. Bellamy 24. Longo 25. Homan 26. Green 27. Williams 28. Bosler 29. Hinkle 30. Freeman 31. Allen 32. Roberts (kicker) 33. Conway 34. Hull 35. Klein with Newsome and Boren further down... (FWIW ESPN did right one terrible wrong... as Corey Brown moved up to the No. 17 ATH in the nation...much improved from his previous status as roughly the No. 400 prospect in the country...he's around No. 150-200ish now) |

I am not implying that Rivals knows more about how a player will project in the future than a Big-10 program, but it is very telling about something amiss in State College when Penn State only has 1 player from the top 15 from Pennsylvania. Second year in a row for this kind of success. |

Wow... taking the top 2 players in Pennsylvannia and Kentucky? I'd like to see if that has ever happend ONCE at OSU for us to take either one of those states like that, let alone both at the same time.
Penn State and TSUN are absolutely getting pwned in their own state by their respective "sister" school. That's a bad sign for both of those programs... especially since both of those schools have taken it in the chin in-state for the 2nd straight year. It's an absolute joke that PSU has only ONE recruit in-state ranked in the top 18. *Insert your favorite JoePa joke here* |
