barry every at rivals said simon was ranked where he was because he's too small, and underwhelmed all week at the AA game.

I asked him if this were true, why was is it that rivals has 6 guys ranked ahead of simon that are actually smaller than him, and why was simon ranked in the east hot 11 for his practice performances if he was so underwhelming.

my question was not answered, and I think, was actually deleted.

Rivals.com Football Recruiting - Ga., Ohio headline state rankings releases

Quote:
There's a new No. 1 in the state of Ohio. After a strong showing in the U.S. Army All-America Game, Massillon (Ohio) Washington defensive back Justin Turner moved up to the No. 1 spot in the Rivals.com Ohio Postseason Top 60. He moves ahead of offensive lineman Marcus Hall of Cleveland Glenville and defensive back Jamie Wood of Pickerington (Ohio) Central.
The news of Turner's climb to the top spot means the Michigan Wolverines scored the top player in the state, which does happen, but with Jim Tressel's stranglehold on the talent in the Buckeye State it's been a rare occurrence.
Glenville defensive back Mike Edwards also made a nice climb in the rankings, moving all the way up to the No. 21 spot. The 5-foot-10, 170-pound cornerback had a solid senior season and proved he was one of the state's best after starting out at the No. 45 spot in the preseason rankings.
2. Marcus Hall
3. Jamie Wood
4. Chris Fields
5. CJ Barnett
7. Corey Linsley
9. Jack Mewhort
10. Storm Klein
11. Melvin Fellows
17. John Simon
19. Sam Longo
20. Jonathan Newsome
24. Adam Bellamy
34. Adam Homan
47. Zach Boren

I am not implying that Rivals knows more about how a player will project in the future than a Big-10 program, but it is very telling about something amiss in State College when Penn State only has 1 player from the top 15 from Pennsylvania. Second year in a row for this kind of success.

Lots of concern in not so Happy Valley, not only is PSU not getting top talent in state, they are offering and getting verbals from mid major level talent (1 four star, 1 three star and 5 two star) according to Rivals.

Wow... taking the top 2 players in Pennsylvannia and Kentucky? I'd like to see if that has ever happend ONCE at OSU for us to take either one of those states like that, let alone both at the same time.

Penn State and TSUN are absolutely getting pwned in their own state by their respective "sister" school. That's a bad sign for both of those programs... especially since both of those schools have taken it in the chin in-state for the 2nd straight year. It's an absolute joke that PSU has only ONE recruit in-state ranked in the top 18. *Insert your favorite JoePa joke here*
