Not a bad film and I have mixed feelings. On one particular screen play, he shows good burst and he doesn't appear to loose much speed off of his cuts. He needs to work on his speed but the power is there, as well as good pad level at times. It seems to me he has the tools, but just needs to put them all together. But I did just forget that was his sophmore film...pretty impressive.

Love what I see here...The tackles he is breaking are not arm tackles...These guys are popping him and he is bouncing off of them always keeping the legs moving and going forward...The defenses seem to always have a beat on him...It is taking 2 to 3 guys to bring him down tho...

Will be interesting to see how this one develops early on during the 2010 recruiting season, but I have him behind Spencer Ware for top RB in the state...

That film doesn't do Eric any justice. The kid is a legit sub 11 sec 100m guy, doesn't have great acceleration but his top end speed is awesome.

Love to see him in S&G but it won't happen

edit: If anyone as a chance to watch the Hoover/ Licking Valley game, Eric tore up Storm Klein and his D for almost 200yds with 3tds.

Pretty strong statements about off the field issues by some of the insiders basically saying that they have very little confidence that he will be able to turn things around sufficiently to get into tOSU.

Sucks because he is exactly the type of back who has been really successful here. Could have been the next Mo C., Beanie Wells type RB.

Eric will be moving to Washington state and play at Auburn high school. The decision is one that has to be made because of family reasons. He does not want to do this but he has to.

Tear it up and show 'em out in the Evergreen State how real football is played.

Looks like Auburn went 8-3 last year and play in the second largest division (out of six). They lost in the second round of the playoffs to the state runner up O'Dea.

In 06 they went 12-1 losing in the State semis (to the eventual champions) & in 05 they were 9-2 again losing in the 2nd round.

Interestingly it looks like Auburn has a 1,000 yard rusher returngin from last season (Jeff Gouveia). They have another back who rushed for over 300 yards (Carlo Lavoie) and they had two other RBs graduate who had 700+ & 300+ yards respectively. So they definitely sound like a run oriented team (3,000 yards rushing vs 600 passing).

They are also moving up to the largest classification this year (4A from 3A).

Talent in Stark County took a hit last week. The list of the best returning football players shrunk by one, as two-a-day football practices began Thursday.

Hoover High School took the field without Erick Howard, and now the Vikings have a huge question mark in their backfield. The Viking junior was on Ohio State's radar, but a family situation is taking him West. Hoover head coach Don Hertler Jr. confirmed Howard and his family are moving to Auburn, Wash., south of Seattle.

"He's a Division I prospect ... and it hurts us," Hertler said. "But it's going to give other kids an opportunity to step up. We're going to have to find different ways of doing it. Guys get injured early every year, so you never know how you're going to have to adjust. We'll miss him as a person. He was having a great summer with us."

Howard rushed for more than 1,300 yards last season and often looked like a man among boys Friday nights.

Hertler is holding out hope Howard will return to North Canton for his senior season. He said that is a possibility.

"They don't start two-a-days until Aug. 20th out there ... so they'll have time to go out there and get settled in," Hertler said.

Hertler has grown close to Howard on and off the field during the last three years. He still has high hopes for the running back.

"My vision for him all along is to get into college and have a good life," Hertler said. "That's still ahead for him whether he's with us or another program. He had a good summer with us, and everything was going well for him. It's just a family situation that changed where he's going to be."
