Raiders' Carter moves up 12 spots to No. 5
October 9, 2008 Five weeks into the high school football season, Miramar quarterback Eugene Smith remains the top prospect in Broward County in the Sun Sentinel's latest rankings.
Smith, who remains uncommitted, has gotten off to an outstanding start to his senior year as he has thrown for 930 yards and 10 touchdowns, with one interception, while leading Miramar to a 4-0 record.
St. Thomas Aquinas has the most players in the top 25 with four, led by receiver Duron Carter, who has verbally committed to Ohio State. Carter, who is a sound technical player with good hands, was the highest riser in the rankings.
He moved into the fifth slot after debuting at No. 17.

Duron Carter, a senior who had a touchdown and 94 yards receiving, thinks St. Thomas will be ready.
``Coming out of the McArthur game, we had some mistakes. But we'll tweak them.''
Carter's touchdown came on a last second call. ``I wasn't supposed to be in, but it was a fourth and long situation and coach threw me in. I ran a post route and [Jacob] Rudock hit me with the ball.''

He is obviously having a great season. He also appears to be bigger and faster than last year. He should be a very good one. Reminds me alot of Robo.
