The Pryor and Jenkins threads are now open.

For the most part, this is preaching to the choir...but for the folks who haven't been around here for very long, we do things a little differently when it comes to recruiting.

We are news first and primarily...discussion second. Player threads are for that player. We realize that discussion sometimes take off on tangents...we do our best to split things off...but please put forth an effort to stay on topic.

The ledge jumpers, "I hope we get ___________," and the folks too lazy to read a thread for recent news (instead of just repeating or reiterating a question) are likely better off not posting here.

If that is asking too much, sorry but that is how we have done things and how we will continue to do things. All mods have been asked to start handing out infractions for those who just won't cooperate. Hopefully, we won't need many to get the point across.

I liked the Pryor thread much more when it was locked and there was actual information posted. I hate that everybody feels the need to post every useless thought that pops into their head in regards to the Pryor situation because apparently they think people care. Guess what, nobody cares. Sorry, needed someplace to rant and I didn't want to put it in the Pryor thread because then I'd just be contributing to the exact thing I hate. It's the entire reason I come to this site, it's the only OSU site I visit daily because I like just straight information from knowledgable people who don't jump off a ledge anytime something somewhat bad happens.

You may get your wish pretty soon...there have been a few meaningful posts that lead to some relevant discussion today, but for the most part we have had to continue to trim the fat all day long. The majority of the mods have agreed that it may need to be shut down again. We thought we would open it back up to see if we could carry on without the ledge-dwellers dragging the thread down but so far that has not happened.

It could just be that it's been closed for a while, but it seems to me like it's way worse than it was before the thread was closed and there's a lot of new people jumping in, some who've never even posted before, and making asinine comments that spur on several responses.

For what it's worth, my opinion is that the Pryor thread should be locked again. I totally agree that I think it has gotten almost worse since it has been unlocked. "Posters" are not really posting any factual information regarding Pryor's recruiting but just going off and posting useless information most of it not relevant to the recruitment of Pryor.

I also believe that this thread should be a sticky.
