Don't read too much into it; the author doesn't have basic facts correct (stating that Henderson hasn't visited other schools yet, which is demonstrably false). Sounds as though he really doesn't know what the heck he's talking about.

Edit:
I suppose it's possible that the author means "hasn't taken any official visits anywhere yet", but it's unclear. Either way, no mention of UM or Minn cuts into his credibility.

you want to drop a kid who has committed to your school and you intially took his commitment, you can stop communicating with him.

This works well - until you want to go back to that HS for another player.

No, the writer paraphrased what he said.

Henderson said some of his other offers that stand out right now are Ohio State, Southern Cal, Florida, LSU and Oklahoma.

That's not a direct quote.

Never said that it was a direct quote. But it was a heck of a lot closer to a direct quote than it was a paraphrase. Subtle differences aside, it's still telling that Henderson listed five non-UM schools, no?

Looks to me that Henderson rattled off his most impressive offers rather than the list of schools in which he has the most interest. I mean, aside from the omission of Texas, are there any other football programs that deserve to be mentioned with Ohio State, Southern Cal, Florida, LSU and Oklahoma in terms of being the top programs right now?
