From email: tOSU has made a great early impression and is working this one hard. A way to go yet, but Seantrel is very interested in tOSU.

Thanks for the update and this is great news. I wonder if Shugarts could play guard if Henderson comes this way? I love J.B. at RT but I would imagine a guy like Henderson would be tough to keep off the field.

Shugarts is two years ahead of him. Ideally, he'd be so good he'd declare early so Henderson could start as a soph.

Should we not count on Seantrel being a Trojan lean? Sean said that USC was the main attraction... I don't know what kind of signal Seantrel needed but we either sent a really good one or a really bad one.
Just need a level to gage this recruitment on... i'm going with 'trust the coaches' on this particular one

I think that Justin Boren (senior) and Bryant Browning (senior) might be competing for a couple of those OL positions.

I doubt it has any effect whatsoever.
Each recruit is different and each make their own decision based upon where they feel most comfortable and where they think they can be most productive. Also there are non-public reasons why Carufel disliked ND. Furthermore ND has a long positive relationship with the people at Cretin-Derham Hall so I tend to think Mr. Henderson will get an overall balanced view of ND.
Finally last year Carufel told Michael Floyd not to go to ND because he had a bad experience there. Floyd paid him no mind and told him 'that's you. I'm different'. I think of the two (Carufel/Floyd) Floyd's influence, if there is any, with Henderson (former teammate) and experience at ND will be much greater.

You know more than I do, about the relationship between Floyd/Carufel, the friendship and influence factors there.
I agree that each recruit is different and does make there own decision. That is why your comparison of influence between Floyd and Carufel vs. Henderson and Carufel is not as compelling as it should be.

He talks about being friends with former ND OL Matt Carufel and how Matt wouldn't recommend ND for his college destination.
|
Maybe I am reading too much into the quote, i.e. that he "is friends with Carufel" rather than a "that's you, I'm different" dismissal ala Floyd of Carufel's counsel.
To dismiss or interpret "being friends" as "I doubt it has any effect whatsoever," strains the context of Henderson's update.
