From the Minnesota site...plans to camp at Ohio State, Iowa and Notre Dame this summer...visited Wisconsin recently and hopes to visit Ohio State and Alabama soon.

I think ND's the team to beat, given their Cretin-Durham pipeline. Would be hard to pull.

I'm not sure that line is as solid as some think. Wasn't Careful from there as well?

I don't think the spelling is right but he transferred back to UMinn because he hated Weis so much

Matt Carufel and he yes, he hated Weis...many though Floyd wouldn't go because of him but we saw how that turned out. I think ND may be tough to beat, but so may Minnesota. I think we are far from out of it but I would be surprised if we landed him.

If OL Seantrel Henderson (Saint Paul, Minn.) -- next year's No.1 recruit -- wants to play both football and basketball, what program is the best fit?

Curtis: The kid says football is his future, calling 6-8 basketball players a "dime a dozen" in college and the pros. But if he wants to go two sports, I'd lean toward Minnesota, which surely would make all sorts of (legal) accommodations to keep this Goliath home. There's some history of football-basketball players at Florida State (Charlie Ward) and North Carolina (Julius Peppers), two of the schools on his list. The benefits for Minnesota coaches Tim Brewster and Tubby Smith -- and the boost Henderson might give both programs -- make the Gophers his best bet.

Hayes: There are a number of obvious possibilities from Henderson's list of schools, including Florida, UCLA and Ohio State. Frankly, I'd love to see the 6-8, 300-pounder playing center for any of those teams (apparently, he's a beast in AAU play).

Maybe because Ohio State is as good as Minny in basketball and is light years ahead in football.

while playing basketball sounds good right now, it isn't going to happen. Since Charlie Ward, who was a Heisman QB, and NBA PG, no cross-sport player has made much a differnce.

Add to that Seantrel is a potential first round Left Teackle, highest paid position n the league, he'll realize basketball is an unnecceasry risk.
