Very true...Probably used it a little too much...In terms of how I was using it I was saying freakish talent, in terms of their skills...
Probably should of not used the term for Klein, as he is really not a freak, but really as you can see this class of 09 is highly talented and at times I get a little carried away...

In a way a little bit of both, we are missing them on the field because they aren't on our roster, but I do believe that we are on the right track with the two guys you mentioned, and 2/3 more in this class would just add to depth...I also think that Gibson could fill this role next year...

My questions would be: Who do (YOU) like in this group, and why...and who do you think we actually offer? And once more, was Jake 4.6 speed?
BTW, referencing Najvar, didn't JB go to Klein/Klein and not Klein/Oak?
|
Oh my bad, you're right about Najvar.... I saw Klein and not Oak, thanks man.
To be honest, I have not seen film on most of these guys, there just isn't any out there I can find. I noted most of them on their loacality to Ohio and prime height, weight, speed combinations for the position.
But, OK, who do I like? Shaun Pratl the most right now at Tight End, from what I have read on him. Malcolm Bush is a big time athlete who can play Defensive End. Ohio State has been in contact with Bush.
An Ohio guy I just watched some film on is Brian Slack. He's 6'5" 220 4.8 kid from Akron - Archbishop Hoban HS. Great set of hands, runs some nice routes (lots of seams), and his blocking ability is shown real well (really drives his man into the ground). I am not sure on the competition level here, but he looks like a real good player. Also, Anthony Talbert (a thread was just started on him) from Cincinnati Winton Woods. Stands 6'4" 220 kid and smart, 3.8 GPA.
As for Jake Stoneburner, he was a bit faster than the 4.6 by Pratl. Jake ran a legit 4. 46

Converseley if he's got a flyer that's lower than than the consensus it's usually an OL.
Just a random observation on my part, nothing more.

That is true-he had Mewhort ranked in the 40's in his 1st rankings in Ohio High. I think he was also a bit higher on Solomon Thomas than most of the other evaluators, and this year, he was in love w/ Brandon Moore.

Thanks, buddy...count me in as a disciple! Appreciate the wealth of your kindness. This will be to good use, I promise!
BTW, I was referring to Jake Ballard, not the 'Burner! We all know what he can do!! I don't consider '08 Jake a TE, anyway. Sorry for being unclear.
