Following an All-American with the Same Exact Name?
Inspired by the '09 prospect Patrick White and his consideration of West Virginia.
How would you feel about playing at a school where a very recently graduated or heisman-level player with the same full name as you played? What if he was still playing there?
Personally, having a common name myself, I find myself separating myself from people with my same exact name, as the confusion really becomes annoying and half the time someone ends up with a nickname that they don't really like (i.e. 2 John Smiths become Hockey John and Long Hair John). I can only imagine what it would be like if I was a public figure.

When I was a senior in HS, there was a kid on the frosh team also named 'BusNative... he got all kinds of sophomore trim by mistake, so I'd say following an all-time great with the same name isn't always bad.

Pat White was a thumb injury away from at least a top 3 finish. You wouldn't classify him as a Heisman-level player? Have you watched the guy play? He's an explosive, dynamic, gamebreaker and could very well go down as the best player ever to play at West Virginia University. That was all my point is.

I was saying he was a Heisman-level player and backed that up with him finishing in the voting.
