The 10th Anniversary of the 2010 U.S. Army All-American Bowl is scheduled for 1 p.m.. Saturday, Jan. 9, 2010, in the Almodome, San Antonio, Texas. The game will be broadcast by NBC.
"Having a player selected to the U.S. Army All-American Bowl is one of the biggest athletic announcements in the history of Anderson High School," Anderson Athletic Director Pamela Scott said. "It is a thrill for Andrew and his family. The Norwell family has had such an impact on Anderson athletics over the years. This was a nice culmination."
Col. Derik Crotts, Deputy Chief of Staff, G7, U.S. Army Accessories Command, said in a statement, "Andrew is a talented athlete whose exemplary displays of leadership and teamwork have made him a standout at Anderson High School.
"The qualities necessary to succeed on the football field, strength, dedication, leadership and teamwork, are the same qualities mirrored in the Army Strong Soldiers. We are proud to honor all of our U.S. Army All-American Bowl players and congratulate them on their selection."
Following the announcement, Lt. Col. Carran presented Norwell with an official game jersey and cap.
"I'm very honored to be a part of the U.S. Army All-American Bowl Game," Norwell said.
