Same disease LaMarcus Aldridge was diagnosed with two years ago. He had the same procedure and has played with no hindrance since.

Well that is good news. The article did not make it seem to be anything too serious, so I was not too worried, but thanks for clearing that up. What I find odd, or intresting, is that Hagan did not mention this to the staff.

My wife had the same problem for most of her life. Sometimes it would be a bit scary, but she had the same operation and has never had the rapid heart rate occur since. It's life changing to get the procedure...glad that Chad didn't wait as long as my wife did.

Chad Hagan plans to play football for Ohio State University next fall. Hagan commited to the Buckeyes and head coach Jim Tressel during a recent trip to Columbus.
Consider the oral commitment slightly open as the Canon-McMillan High School senior wants to see what else is out there. For instance, Wisconsin is recruiting Hagan as a running back while Ohio State plans the use him at safety.
"Ohio State knows I'm committed to them and they know I'm looking at other schools," Hagan said, moments after Monday afternoon's football practice broke. "But I plan on playing at Ohio State. I felt like that's the place where I belong. Coach Tressel, he's a top-notch guy and I loved the atmosphere."
Hagan also plans on playing for Canon-McMillan this fall. He'll find out Thursday if that's a possibility.
Hagan, a 6-2, 232-pound freakish athlete with 4.3 speed and offers from Michigan, Illinois, North Carolina State and Syracuse among others, has Wolff-Parkinson-White syndrome, a heart disorder which can create a rapid heartbeat.
"It was something I noticed a while ago but I always thought it was normal," Hagan said. "Now that I know more about it, I feel safe with it."
The heart problem was discovered in April, as Hagan prepared to have surgery for a stress fracture in his shin. At first, he took the news well, but when one doctor said Hagan would never play sports again, it became difficult to deal with.

Not sure I understand Hagan's rationale there. Let's be honest, you didn't want to freak out the staff and I would have done the same thing. It's all moot however, sounds like he's good to go.

Just throwing this out there:

Is there any chance PSU got wind of this heart condition (considering his teammate has been a PSU verbal for almost a year) thus making them not offer? And with PSU getting wind, wouldn't surprise me that Pitt would get the same info eventually and in a shorter time period than Tressel and staff. And well naturally neither of those teams are going to say anything to OSU, especially knowing Tressel is such a stand up guy and will most likely honor the offer.

It's possible. A good friend of mine mentioned this to me about a month ago. He is close to one of the PSU coaches. They knew about this condition. That said, PSU may have had differen needs than tOSU. Different strokes for different folks. Pitt also did not offer. I'm sure with proper treatment CH will be fine.

No doubt that's true, but I'm certain that there won't be any lasting effects from this.

The BPRT had caught wind of this situation a while back but, as is our rule of thumb, didn't go to the boards with it because of not wanting to violate the recruit's privacy. I am pretty confident if we knew about this then the staff likely did as well.

Thanks for the replys guys, I didn't know about any of that info in those posts.
One thing most PSU fans fail to observe is they are looking for like one defensive backfield player this class. I laughed when I read PSU fans trying to question the offer from us.
