11/20 From the OSU site...Joyner's uncle talks about his season and the upcoming game against Palmetto and Jaamal Berry...talks about his nephews strengths on the field...says the schools showing the most interest are Ohio State, Florida, and Florida State.

Okay, this kid plays well behind his measurables. He looks alot faster than his .40 time says, and he doesn't "ease up" before delivering a hit(which he does like a linebacker more than a DB at times). Not afraid to stick his nose in there with the big boys and make a play. Fearless is the one word i'd use to describe him by watching the film.

Joyner had a really good game in a 20-14 loss to Jaamal Berry's Palmetto Panthers. Joyner caught up with Berry on a long run preventing Berry from what would have been a 60+ yard TD down the sideline. He also had some very good coverage and caught a 6 yard TD pass on a very high pass to the back of the corner of the end zone. This kid definitely has some speed to him and was, along with the Southwest QB, one of the few bright spots for this team tonight. Definitely a top recruit in the state of Florida next year.

Definitely faster than the 4.53 posted. Big time player, not afraid of contact and dangerous with the ball in his hands. 100% fine with the offer... Interview Confident young man. Going to be tough to get away from Florida.

He looked 4.3 on Friday night vs. Berry and Palmetto and also has some good moves to get open. Only negative side, and this isn't his fault, is that Southwest doesn't design enough plays to get him involved. Their offense is somewhat like the unorthodox offense I described in the Jaamal Berry thread that Palmetto often runs with a 5 receiver set and no back, but in Southwest's case they don't throw to him enough, because he certainly got open. There wasn't enough he could do on the offensive side as far as defending, because Berry, the Palmetto QB Karpiak, and the two other RBs, Butler and Williams, were running through Southwest. Not much passing.
Southwest doesn't play in a particularly competitive district in terms of speed (I ain't kidding about this), but Joyner is definitely the real deal and he proved he can play with the best on Friday night.

Lately we seem to get a top notch guy or two that nobody probably expected us to get at first (Sabino, Berry, etc.). Hopefully Joyner can be "that guy" because he is absolutely explosive. He is a great defensive player but I say you can't keep the ball out of his hands. He needs to at least return kicks if he is going to be on defense...Thomas and Joyner would be two really dangerous return threats.

Given the end of the playoffs for Joyner, you probably won't hear much new until May of next year. That's went spring football takes place down here and there is always a jamboree game played at the end of May. Scouts saturate the place around that time and also attend practices.
