Tough night for Drew and the Cavs...

The Cavs came close to shaking off the dust with a tricky onside kick on the opening kickoff. But after recovering the opening kick and driving within striking distance, Chillicothe quarterback Shay Netter threw an interception, and the offense never got that close again.

The biggest play of the day was through the Cavs' usually reliable special teams. A blocked field goal in the first quarter set up Jackson with a short field, and eventually led to a one-yard touchdown run by Jackson quarterback Kruize Wandling.

Chillicothe's Basil, Skowronek lead All-Ohio

Chillicothe's Drew Basil and Tony Skowronek have played soccer together for as many years as they can remember, so it only seems appropriate the longtime teammates and friends ended their high school soccer careers on the same high note.

The two Cavaliers were named fiirst-team All-Ohio in Division II on Monday. Both players also picked up All-Ohio accolades in 2008 as juniors.

"I'd say this is the highlight of my two All-Ohios because I got to make first team with Tony this year, and making first team is really exciting," Basil said.

"It actually feels good (to be named to the first team) with Drew," Skowronek said. "It shows how much we've grown together, and all the experience we've had playing with each other."
