This past weekend, as he attended the Tennessee at Florida game on Saturday, Philadelphia (Pa.) George Washington defensive lineman Sharrif Floyd experienced two firsts.

"It was my first official visit and it was the first college game I've been to," Floyd said.

I also have Penn State, South Carolina and North Carolina scheduled, but I don
t have the exact dates in front of me," Floyd said.

Previously, Floyd said he will make his official visit to South Carolina the weekend of Nov. 14 when the Gamecocks play Florida.

Even though he has scheduled his five official visits, Floyd is continuing to look at a few other schools.

"Those aren't my final five," Floyd said. "I wouldn't even call them my top five. They are just the five I scheduled for my official visits. I'm also looking at Ohio State, Michigan, Boston College and West Virginia."

Floyd was named the MVP of the Premier Showcase in June and won the Maxwell Award at Football University in the same month, earning an invite to the prestigious Top Gun camp in July. With dozens of college offers to choose from, Floyd will regularly check in with SI.com to discuss his season and the recruiting process.

Defensive lineman Sharrif Floyd of Philadelphia has taken official visits to Florida and Southern Cal, and has trips later this month with Penn State and USC. He is scheduled for North Carolina in early November, but Ohio State and Michigan have been pushing for that visit. His coach said last week USC remains a strong player based on Floyd's two visits.

Top defensive tackle Sharrif Floyd shakes up official visit schedule

ESPNU 150 prospect Sharrif Floyd (Philadelphia/Washington) has already made official visits to Florida and USC and was expected to make trip No. 3 this weekend to Penn State. However, those plans have changed.

ESPN affiliate Web site TheBigSpur.com spoke with one of Floyd's coach, Mike White, who said, "He's going to South Carolina Oct. 24. He's talking about going to Penn State Nov. 7."

North Carolina could be his fifth visit, but nothing is set at this time, "North Carolina might drop out," White added. "If he doesn't visit North Carolina his fifth visit will probably be Ohio State."

The Buckeyes are the only school remaining of Floyd's list who have not offered.

The 6-foot-3, 310-pound senior has helped George Washington to a 4-2 record this fall while registered 30 tackles and six seven.

On 9/11/09, Mike Farrell in his Weekly Whispers column, reported that OSU offered Sharrif at that time. In fact, OSU sent Shariff another written offer because the first offer was sent to the wrong address.

Maybe because BPRT and Mods have lifes (spouses?..children?) that demand a few minutes of their time instead of spending 24/7 making sure every thread on BP is in it proper forum.

Floyd delaying remaining visits

DL Sharrif Floyd (6-3 311) of Philadelphia was scheduled to take his official visit to USC this weekend, but he will delay that visit and his remaining two until after his football playoffs according to his coach. Another reason for the delay is Floyd wants some people close to him to join him on the visit to USC, and this weekend was not convenient. Floyd has taken official visits to Florida and Southern Cal. He's also been looking at Penn State, North Carolina, Michigan and Ohio State for possible visits. Floyd has told his USC recruiter GA Mangus he fully intends to make his visit to Columbia. He made two unofficial visits to USC in the summer. Floyd will play in the US Army All American Game and he plans to announce his decision during that game.
