I think I had a good draft, but time will tell. Everything went as planned - or better than planned in some respects.
I had started off planning on keeping Matt Forte & Randy Moss when I didn't think we'd be able to assign draft values to keepers. Once that changed. I switched Moss out for Ronnie Brown. I still wanted Moss pretty bad but I knew two things - his first round value as a keeper was going to end up leaving my team pretty thin, and with the third pick in the draft there was a strong chance that if I put him back in the pool that I'd be able to essentially keep him anyway - plus R. Brown. Heck, even if I didn't get him, my consolation prize would have been Westbrook or Tomlinson - not to shabby. Having given up a late 4th and late 6th for my keepers, I knew I'd have to start off strong and fill key spots in the first three rounds. I figure that with Tom Brady back, Moss is in line for another one of those monster years where he is by himself on the top tier of receivers. Last year was a down year for him and he was still right there with the likes of Fitzgerald, Boldin, Johnson, Johnson, etc. In the second round I had been anticipating an early run on QBs since so many people kept RBs, so I was targeting Aaron Rodgers with my late second rounder. I was really surprised as that pick approached though to see Ryan Grant still sitting out there, so I snatched him up. I think he'll be healthier this year, and like Moss, will rebound from a down year last year. Not a bad option for the flex position. He's not a 300 carry guy like some of the others, but he doesn't exactly have a Jonathan Stewart or a LenDale White behind him to take away carries either. My third round pick was 5 slots after that, and Rodgers was still there for the taking. Having given up a 4th and a 6th, I really had to make my 5th rounder count too. We'll see how that turns out. I grabbed LenDale White in that spot. I would have rather gone WR there, but the options were not too appealing. The guys I liked were ranked about twenty spots lower I thought I could get better value If I waited for my 7th rounder. If White reprises his TD vulture role from last year he'll be well worth it He gives me necessary depth at RB. I think I did much better at that position than last year, which is important given how much our league emphasizes RB production. Starting in the 7th, I really needed to start thinking WR. I had Moss in the bag, but nothing else at this point. To make things worse, many of the guys I was targeting for my 7th back when I put off WR in the 5th were coming off the board. As a result, WR is easily the thinnest of the main positions on my team. I went back to back with Anthony Gonzalez & Lance Moore in the 7th & 8th. They both have question marks, but the potential is there - unlike the guys available around the 5th who I thought had definite ceilings. Can Gonzalez step into the Marvin Harrison role like everybody thinks he's capable of doing? Can Lance Moore duplicate his production from last season? Moore's production last year was pretty close to what Randy Moss did - and I only spent an 8th rounder on him. He is listed as the third WR on the depth chart currently though - not necessarily that big a deal in New Orleans, but not confidence inspiring. Devery Henderson is listed ahead of him, but I don't think he'll be a better option than Moore. Finally, I just tired to fill in the best I could. I went for defense when I couldn't get players I liked at a value, and ended up nabbing Baltimore & Dallas. I don't think I'll have to worry about defense this year. I was glad to be able to get LeSean McCoy in the 10th. That's a potential keeper for next year and beyond. They're saying he's gonna get his touches, Westbrook is getting up there in age and he never really stays healthy all season anyway. I had ignored TE, and most of the oft-targeted options were gone. I want for Fasano, who can hopefully be a red zone target like he was last year to the tune of 7TDs. Finally touching back on WRs, I got Ted Ginn - a teams WR1 in the late rounds. He should get enough balls thrown his way this year - hopefully he begins to fulfill his immense potential. I like my team right now, but ask me that question again after Week 1. ![]() |

I think overall I drafted fairly well. I kept 2 WR(Actually the only players that were worthy of a keeper status) So I had to load up on my RB's early since most people kept them.
Westbrook I think should have another good year. I expect to see him get a few touches in the wildcat and break a few. Especially if teams are keying in on Vick. P.Thomas also should have a better year than last with some more experience. He's better between the tackles so I thinking TD's here T.Jones well he wasn't exactly my favorite pick for a 3rd RB but a solid one none the less W.Parker on the BN Can't complain about this one. Great for bye weeks and if someone has an injury I should be able to get some production out of him QB's are Solid here Warner playing in the spread should go for close to 4k again this year (Got the combo with Boldin) E.Manning on the BN for a bye week or if Warner happens to get alzheimers WR's Not in bad shape either. Boldin should be able to work a little more freely this year with Fitz on the other side of the field L.Evans Almost the same as above, with the addition of T.O. they can't double him all day so I expect him to have a big upside S.Moss on the BN I'm debating over who to start here Evans or Moss? TE Well.... Greg Olsen got a lot of looks in the first couple of preseason games from Cutler so I look for him to add some yards to his total this year and probably keep his TD's up Z.Miller probably will only see the field during a bye week for Olsen And kickers and D I got some better than average ones but with only 10 teams in the league ho doesn't? |

Fairly happy with my draft! Looking back, I probably should have taken Tom Brady as my keeper instead of Drew Brees so I could have given up a 6th instead of a 4th, but Brady getting hurt during this preseason gave me visions of yesteryear. Seemed like just before I was to make my pick every round, someone would pick up the guy I was thinking about... but isn't that how it always goes in these drafts?
QB: Thrilled to have Drew Brees, but wasn't able to draft one of the 3 back-ups I was hoping to draft late. There are still 3 guys I like still on the waiver wire, so I'm sure I'll pick one up for Drew's bye week. RB: Wanted to pull in 6 and came away with 7. Don't have the elite star power, but I've got depth like a mother and lots of potential. Still can't believe Darren Sproles was still on the board in the 12th! Pretty sure Hightower is going to be the starter most of the year in Arizona, with Beanie holding out in contract negotiations and then getting hurt. I'm taking a chance on Knowshon Moreno... I'll let you know how that goes... WR: Wanted at least 3 and ended up with 3. Would have liked to get a slick sleeper late, but the 2 I had in mind for the pick came off the board the round before. Really like the combo Andre Johnson/Roddy White/Chad Ochocinco, but I've got my fingers crossed they all stay healthy this year... because I literally have no depth. TE: Apparently, I'm drinking "Da U TE" kool-aid. I was looking to pick up Kellen Winslow late (because Witten came off the board) and landed him where I thought I would, but Jeremy Shockey was a panic pick. The clock was inside 10 secs, the back up QBs came off the board, and my 2nd sleeper WR came off the board. At least I've got a back-up for ONE other position not named RB... D: Baltimore was my #1, but I had the Steelers last season in one of my leagues and they didn't disappoint. Hard to go wrong with them, seeing as though the Steel Curtain is picked by most fantasy ranking sites #1... K: Wanted one of Bironas, Akers, or Folk, landed Folk. Can't complain there. I'm REALLY open to trades, so if I have someone you'd like, propose me a trade! If you need a RB, I've got a few... QB- Drew Brees RB- Steve Slaton, Marshawn Lynch, Knowshon Moreno, Tim Hightower, Rashard Mendenhall, Darren Sproles, Edgerrin James WR- Andre Johnson, Roddy White, Chad Ochocinco TE- Kellen Winslow, Jeremy Shockey D- Pittsburgh K- Nick Folk |

Isn't Marshawn Lynch suspended for the first 4 games?

Ha. I was ignorant to this when I drafted him.
At least he should be fresh when he is finally allowed to play again... |

I actually real like your team all around. Good depth at RB & WR. Established scorers as well as nice potential at the key positions. |
