Well enjoy!

I can also show video of teams besides Lufkin and Tyler Lee so you can see what kind of talent they play week in and week out. It's pretty much the same every week.

Tyler Lee looks fast on defense, but also looks like you can run right at them. If Colerain can come up w/ a QB that can run their option effectively, they should be able to move the ball consistently.

Does that TB Ross return? he looked pretty tough.

Nightmaresdad......Lufkin runs from the spread......so, Tyler Lee had to respect the pass or they would get burned. Lufkin's RB was 6-1, 240...he ran on everyone....he went to Texas A&M.

Tyrone Ross is gone...his last year was this past year. He is going to Texas A&M also.

But, they had a 3rd backup that got close to 1,000 yards........he is suppose to be really good.

From what I saw, I'd say that Ross has more of a future as a RB than Lane does, at Texas A&M. Ross looked explosive, and Lane just seemed to run through large holes. Didn't seem to have much vision, if there wasn't a huge hole there.

As far as respecting the pass being the reason they ran on Tyler Lee. You probably know just as well as any of us, that a well run option attack will keep you just as honest as a spread passing attack. Usually not a good idea to get everyone real close to the line of scrimmage against a quality option attack. Otherwise you'll be looking at the back of their jerseys. Just like you would if they threw it over the top of your defense.

Lane will more than likely be playing fullback at Texas A&M.
Ross at tailback.
Lufkin had Lane taking snaps at QB last year in the playoffs and it was effective. He was such a tough runner and you had to take him down at the line or once he got steam it was hard to get him down. He was knick named "The Lane Train". The Lufkin band even played the cho cho train noise. It was funny to see him taking snaps at QB.

From what i've read...Colerian doesn't even pass. They better learn to real quick.

I look for a great trip up there........and hopefully a barn burner.

No reason to change what works. Like I said. Good luck stackin' the line against a very good option attack.

Tyler Lee plays option teams all the time........with speed that mirrors them or more. Trust me....they will be fine!

Longview, Lufkin, and Tyler Lee are in the same district.

Here is a video of Lufkin and Longview just to show you what teams Tyler Lee plays every year.

Colerain just sent a running back to Michigan, a Quarterback to Cincinnati, has one offensive lineman who is going to be a Buckeye, and several other Division One recruits. They won the Ohio State title by the score of 50-10. But trust WACO, Tyler Lee will be just fine against them and Colerain had better learn how to pass real quick!

Seriously, it will be funny when they put up a good five touchdowns on Lee without throwing more than five passes all game. I watched the clips of the Lufkin game, and there was no real evidence that Lee will be able to stop Colerain at the point of attack. The only question for Colerain this year will be whether their defense can stifle the other team like it did last year. My guess is that it will be a step below, so they might give up more than two touchdowns to a really good team.

It's been an ongoing debate that has raged for decades.

Which state plays the best football? Or more to the point, which state plays the best high school football?

You talk to 100 Texans and you will get 100 identical responses. All of them touting the Lone Star State as having the best football this country has to offer. Other possible states in this debate are California, Florida, Pennsylvania and Ohio.

Well, California took a shot at knocking Texas off last year with San Diego Mira Mesa playing Wylie in the East Texas Football Classic. As many Texans expected, the California team could not keep up with Wylie, falling behind 27-0 and eventually losing 27-10. That was one of the longest recorded road trips for a non-private high school team. As far as Texas teams - Abilene, John Tyler and Longview - have played Shreveport (La.) Evangel, Midland Lee and JT took on West Monroe (La.) and Robert E. Lee has taken on El Dorado (Ark.).

Results have been mixed in these games. Dallas Carter played a two-game series with Miami (Fla.) Southridge, but other than that, state crossover games have been few and far between.

Robert E. Lee will buck that trend next football season, playing not one, but two crossover games against teams from Florida and Ohio.

The Red Raiders battle Hollywood (Fla.) Chaminade Madonna on Aug. 27 at Trinity Mother Frances Rose Stadium. Two weeks later, Lee will travel to Columbus, Ohio to take on Colerain High School from Cincinnati.

"Everyone knows that Florida plays great football and Ohio states its claim to that too, so it's going to be a big deal," said Lee head coach Mike Owens about the two games. "I don't think that one football game is going to change anybody's mind. One team from Texas, one from Ohio, (one from Florida), and whichever one wins, (the) states will still say that we're better because anyone can beat anyone one time."

If nothing else, these games will spark more debate on whether Texas football is best. Both Lee and Colerain won state championships last year in the highest classification - Lee won 5A Division I and Colerain won Ohio District 1 - and Chaminade Madonna won the Florida 3A state championship in 2003 (ranked No. 1 team for all classifications in Florida that year).

One thing is for sure, Lee will no longer be an unknown. Across the nation, high school football fans are going to hear about a team from Texas that had the gall to challenge a former state champion from Florida and current state champion from Ohio. Many people across the nation have now watched "Friday Night Lights," and will be watching Lee to see if it can back up the "Texas Football" hype.

"We will be defending the state of Texas and we are looking forward to that," Owens said. "I don't want to put that much pressure on our kids. To make it sound like if we don't win this, the world is coming to an end, but deep-down inside, it will be that way."

Texas football fans are going to expect Lee to not only win both games, but do it with flair. The only comparison I can think of is from a sport many Texans could care less about - Brazil and its national soccer team.

Much like how Texans feel about football, Brazilians feel they own soccer, so just winning a game is not enough. When Brazil takes on another nation in soccer, they have to win with creativity, skill and domination.

That is what Lee will be expected to do next fall.

"I know that the whole state of Texas will be keeping an eye on it, whether it be radio or TV. They will want to find out what happened," Owens said. "In that sense, it puts a little pressure on us because I don't want to end my career as being, 'he's the one who represented Texas and lost to both of them'

"I don't want our program to be remembered as the school that didn't do a good job representing the state."

Two points....

1) Just because Colerain doesn't pass doesn't mean they can't...when you average nearly 400 yards of rusing per game for the last three years, why would you throw the ball?

2) you sound like every fan of any team that Colerain has played in the last three years who thinks the option is too one deminsional to be a success.

Sorry, I don't mean to come off like that.

We do have teams that run just a run oriented offense......but they usually have more yards than that in passing. Just because of big plays I would say.

I'm looking forward to the game and the buzz was around campus last week.

I wish I could see some film on Colerain from last year.
