It should be a great opportunity for all Buckeye fans to come out and see Connor Smith and Cobrani Mixon play for Colerain and represent Ohio H.S. football.
Hope to see a lot of Scarlet and Gray in Crew that night...I'll be looking for ya! ![]() |

Colraine graduated a ton of talent that had played together for three years. I don't think they'll be as tough this year as they were last.
Someone from Texas clear this up for me please; Georgia, Alabama and Texas allow 19 year olds to play. Ohio, to the best of my knowledge, does not. (It cost Colraine a shot at State one year when OHSAA discovered they had used a 19 year old. the kid didn't start, played very little and had little or no impact on their games.) |

secondly...the defense returns Cobrani Mixon, Micheal Schiedt, Tyler Moeller, Eugene Lemmons and Calvin Dixon and big time D1 recruite (he is a junior to be) Eugene Clifford. the offense returns Eric Ornella, Connor Smith, Brandon Wyatt, Kyle Lumpkin, Rico Booker and Terrance Schearer. That is 12 starters returning...Colerain only had 15 returning starters last season. of that group...Mixon, Moeller, Clifford, Ornella, Smith and Schearer are division 1 college recruits. Don't count Colerain out. They will not 'dominate' the way they did last year in terms of suffocating defense...but when you score 49 points a game, its ok to give up 17. ![]() |

H&G
Keep your ears open, if this is going to be the 9th me and a couple buddies would make the trip. You know that the Tejas fans that are in town a little early will, and we need to make sure that they don't overrun the Colerain stadium. ![]() |

So when is this undercard matchup supposed to be taking place? Early in the day I hope, so I can go and still have time to tailgate.

The game I believe will be played on Friday night. That is what the Tyler ISD press release stated today.
Tyler Independent School District 1319 West Eighth Street P.O. Box 2035 Tyler, TX 75710 March 23, 2005 For Immediate Release Robert E. Lee Football to Face Ohio Powerhouse Tyler, TX - The defending Class 5A, Div. I state champion Robert E. Lee Red Raiders have announced their 2005 varsity football schedule, which includes non-district games against state powers from both Florida and Ohio in the first three weeks of the season. Robert E. Lee will kickoff defense of its first-ever state championship against Chaminade Madonna High School, which is located in Hollywood, Fla. Chaminade Madonna captured a Florida state championship in 2003 and was a state semifinalist in 2004 after starting its season at 10-0. The meeting between Robert E. Lee and Chaminade Madonna will be among the four-game East Texas Football Classic, which returns to Trinity Mother Frances Rose Stadium for a second year to kickoff the high school football season. Included in Robert E. Lee’s non-district schedule will also be a road game against Cincinnati Colerain, the reigning Ohio Div. I state champion which finished at 15-0 and No. 5 in USA Today’s final national rankings. The contest between Robert E. Lee and Cincinnati Colerain on September 9 will be played in Columbus, Ohio, the night before the University of Texas meets The Ohio State University. All expenses related to the team’s participation in the event will be funded by a sponsorship from Fahlgren Sports Marketing. To allow Robert E. Lee to accept an invitation to play in Columbus, Lufkin High School agreed to shuffle its 2005 non-district schedule on September 9, from playing at Robert E. Lee to playing at Memorial High School in Port Arthur. Memorial High School participated in the 2004 East Texas Football Classic in Tyler and with the addition of Lufkin will also have a five-game home schedule. Robert E. Lee’s remaining home schedule includes Euless Trinity, Longview and Mesquite Horn, while its road games will also include Waco, Rockwall, North Mesquite and Mesquite. The school’s annual meeting with John Tyler High School will be held on October 21. Both the East Texas Football Classic and Robert E. Lee’s match-up in Ohio are being managed for the Tyler ISD by TITUS Sports Marketing, a sales and marketing consultant for the school district. Additional details on Robert E. Lee’s game against Cincinnati Colerain in Columbus will be announced in late April. |
