Coldwater Cavaliers

Coldwater has a glorified scrimmage this week against Fort Recovery. The Indians are 1-7 this year, coming off a 20-2 victory over 0-8 New Bremen.
I'm expecting a 56-0 or worse game. Ross will most likely be out before halftime. The following week is another huge matchup for the Cavs. They take on 7-1 Delphos St Johns (#3 in Div VI).

They should easily beat Delphos. Versailles was able to out-physical them in their match-up earlier this year. Delphos was faster than Versailles, but Coldwater is faster than Versailles too, and I would wager faster than Delphos.

well as a delphos person i can comment. coldwater should blow out st johns like a piece of cake however it never ends up that way for some odd reason so i will just say coldwater wins by 2 tds.

Homan scored 4 TDs to lead Coldwater to an undefeated regular season, beating Delphos St. Johns 35-21 tonite.
Edit: 224 yards, including a 90+ score. Chris Wells may have some competition...

10/30/05 Homan bruises Blue Jays: Top-ranked Coldwater pulls away in second half By MARK ALTSTAETTER 419-993-2085 10/30/2005 limanews@limanews.com DELPHOS — His tackles were bone-crushing. But his runs were simply devastating. Coldwater’s Ross Homan will probably line up at a linebacker position in college. But unfortunately for Midwest Athletic Conference opponents this season, they had to deal with not only his great defensive prowess, but also his explosive running ability out of the backfield. The Ohio-State bound Homan erupted for 186 second-half rushing yards and ended the game with 209 yards on the ground and four touchdowns, to help lead No. 1 Coldwater to a convincing 35-21 victory over Delphos St. John’s at Stadium Park. Homan scored four touchdowns on the night — three in the second half — as the Cavaliers pulled away from a 14-14 tie at halftime and broke the game wide open in the third quarter. Homan’s three third-quarter touchdown runs pushed Coldwater out to a 35-14 lead by the end of the quarter. Homan’s fourth TD of the game was a 91-yard run off tackle in the third quarter that gave the Cavs a 21-point advantage. Coldwater coach John Reed gave credit to his entire team for the huge win that kept the Cavaliers undefeated (10-0, 9-0 MAC). St. John’s fell to 7-3 and 6-2 in the MAC. “When their coaches shook our hands after the game, they told us that we had some great players,” Reed said with a smile. “I guess he’s (Homan) one of them. “I thought the difference in the second half was our offensive line. They really came off the ball.” Coldwater quarterback Steve Borger was pin-point with his passes, completing 12 of 15 for 141 yards. “He (Borger) had 14 starts last season,” Reed said. “I think that really helped him to be able to play through certain situations this season.” St. John’s was led by quarterback Nick Johnson’s 147 yards rushing and two touchdowns. Johnson (4-of-19 passing, 54 yards) also threw a TD pass to Curtis Laudick in the fourth quarter to cut the deficit to 14 points. St. John’s coach Todd Schulte said, “They have a lot of athletes and they made a lot of plays. I give them credit. They’re a great team and they deserve to win the MAC.” Schulte added, “I told the kids to go home, wake up tomorrow, and forget about it. We have a lot more things to worry about.”
