Massillon Head Football Coach Stacy's future in some doubt.
Quote:
Tom Stacy’s two-hour discussion Monday night with the Massillon Board of Education about his future with the Tiger football program remains a private one. School board members continue to decline comment about what was discussed in the executive session.
Massillon City Schools Superintendent Fred Blosser did confirm that the board and Stacy discussed the future of the Tiger head coach, but Blosser declined to say what that future could be.
“I am not at liberty to say (what was discussed),” Blosser said Tuesday. “I will say that there was no action taken nor was there any action recommended.” Stacy said Monday that he did not tender his resignation at the meeting. The possibility of his resigning had been broached on Internet discussion sites. He has also denied rumors that he is seeking a job at the University of Findlay.

I mentioned in another thread that I took in the Y'town Cardinal Mooney/Coldwater game at Massillion PB Tiger Stadium. While I was there I couldn't help but notice that Massillion is putting up an 80,000 square foot
indoor field house. The indoor practice field is 100 yards long, not bad for a almost dead rust belt town.

Don't know if anyone else saw Sportscenter this morning, but they had a segment on marketing caskets, urns, and other burial items to sports fans so that they can be with their favorite team for all of eternity (it was both sad and disturbing, by the way). The piece began by examining the birth of the trend in Europe where fans of football (read: soccer) clubs were buying in. Then it moved to America, specifically with baseball teams. It also mentioned that the trend has extended all the way down to the high school football level at one Massillon Washington high school. Wow.
