Yeah, Sollman was in my class. He was amazing, and actually a really good baseball player too (Hence the reason he went to the minors after his ND career). Sadly, I never played on that team even though Coach Rasso asked my dad if he could get me to play. I was a really big kid and pretty athletic (I was in Rasso's gym class and I could let he was surprised at the things I could do at about 300 bills...yes, 3 hundie). Too bad I was a dumb kid focused on academics who swore he wouldn't play football again. A long story.
Anyway, yes, Sollman was amazing. He was damn good, but St. Iggy's team that year was much bigger and physical than our team.
BTW...I'm about 210 now and in good shape. Amazing how things change after high school.
