Im from northeast ohio up in ashtabula county so my knowledge of highschool venues is pretty localized to my region, but off the top of my head both Perry and Chardon schools have decent stadiums. Perry's entire school district is supported by the Power Plant and they had one fantastic campus built some years ago and its still in excellent condition. The only problem with their stadium is the old school carpet-like turf. Chardon put in a new stadium a some years back and I actually played ON it my senior year of school and I thought it was absolutely awesome. The newer field turf, big stands stretching from endzone to endzone, huuuuge scoreboard/megatron in one endzone as well as big bleachers for the bands. the track is exceptional as well and its all surrounded by big walls/gates.

Currently in Ashtabula County levy's are being passed for new schools and facilities as Geneva just finished a brand new highschool, Lakeside(formerly Ashtabula/Harbor schools before the consolidation about 6years back) is nearing completion of one MASSIVE highschool. I know Geneva has future plans for a brand new sports complex at the new school but that wont be for some time. I've heard Lakeside is going to put in their stadium on location of the school as soon as possible and are going to really put alot of money into it. Both schools have TONS of land at the new schools with plenty of room for good size facilities.

I also played down in Ravenna and they have a nice stadium there. Not massive in size but its newer with the field turf and such, looks good. I aso remember playing in Warren against JFK but I believe they share stadiums with Harding and the stadium is pretty big in size, but its quite old by the looks of it.

It's older now, but in the early 90's when my bro and sis graduated Dublin Coffman was a great stadium. The boosters always had plenty of money and I've always had a great time going to games there.

Dublin Jerome is brand new and very similar to Dublin Coffman. Both stadiums have a smaller away bleacher behind each photo.

Nothing on the Texas scale, but I can tell you, going to Coffman games every friday night was the place to be. It seemed as though the whole city would walk from their homes and watch the Rocks play. Very cool.

I'm really surprised our bleachers haven't been condemed yet.

The older schools like Linden, West, East(They are boarderline) and South have concrete instead of the bare metal. Their stadiums, despite being upwards of 80+ years old, are in better shape than most stadiums in the city.
I've always wondered how Northland got a better stadium than most other city league schools? We can't win at football to save our lives.

Look great...New Albany is still a small school, but they support their teams and have a lot more money than most places...they're going to become a power in Ohio if the place keeps growing like it is now...they have great support and thus far have done pretty well all around

Not a nice facility, but I seem heard that Portsmouth's stadium (Memorial Stadium?) being the former home of the Portsmouth NFL team (who moved and became the Detroit Lions IIRC) and that it was the first NFL team with its own stadium, which is a neat factoid if true

From what I've seen, and its kinda of wierd when you think of it, usually the older the school is, the nicer the stadium.

I know, that sounds kinda stupid, but if you look at all the nicer stadiums in the city, they are the one's like East, West, South, Linden, ect. All made from concrete and are in the best shape, even though they are so old. The newer one's, that weren't made like the old one's just look bad.

Here is a link where can see about 4 page threads of texas high school facilities around the state.

We also have high schools with huge indoor athletic facilities....there are photos of those also there. That is the new big thing here..is getting indoor facilities.

Enjoy......hope your mouth doesn't drop off. haha

Wow, but so unnecessary. I mean, why does a high school need luxary boxes? Why does a high school need a sports arena that seats 12,000 people? Why does a high school need a indoor practice field. I mean, some(Maybe most) colleges don't even have indoor fields.

Waco ISD (Waco High and Waco University High) started the trend in 2000 of the new stadiums.

Waco ISD Stadium

The stadium was built in 2000....at a cost of 15 million dollars. The stadium was planned to be paid off in 10 years.

The stadium paid itself off in less than 3 years!

The reason they paid it off so fast was that it hosts a ton of playoff games......that are sold out every game. The reason it attracts so many playoff games is Waco is the most central location in the state of Texas.

Other ISD's then saw what Waco achieved........and built new stadiums.....their not as successful as Waco ISD as far as revenue....but the facilities are needed. They would not build them here if they didn't make money!

You have to think if Waco ISD paid the stadium off in less than 3 years with a price tag of 15 million.......all of that money now it generates is pumped back into the school district.

As far as indoor facilities.....it's kinda over the top....but it is really hot here also so being inside helps.

Texas high school football emulates the NCAA teams.......to me Texas high school football is very much colleges......there is not much difference......except the kids are younger.....even the rules here...we go by the NCAA rules.
