Kipper Nichols Becoming Hot Name
"I've been talking lately with coach (Buckeye assistant Jeff) Boals, pretty often in fact before we left to go down to Columbus (for the state tournament,)" Nichols told Eleven Warriors about his developing relationship with the Buckeyes. "Ohio State has a great tradition there. They have great rivalries and have had a lot of great players. I also really like the Big Ten. They want to get me on campus and have told me they're looking forward to seeing me this spring."

...

A 6-foot-7, 212 pounds and still growing (Nichols expects to grow another inch or two before he's finished,) the versatile Nichols is capable of playing inside or outside.

...

Nichols had 26 points in the state finale, including two clutch free throws to ice the game in the closing seconds of overtime.

From LGHL
NR Kipper Nichols (6'7 SF, Lakewood St. Edward, OH):
After leading Lakewood St. Edward to a state title on Saturday, Nichols is a notable snub from the top 150. At 6'7, Nichols is extremely versatile, and can score in a multitude of ways. Excelling with his mid-range shooting and slashing ability, Nichols is a high IQ player that has definite takeover ability. Scoring 26 points in the state championship win, after a 28-point performance in the state semifinals, Nichols will continue to play with a chip on his shoulder during the AAU season and into his senior year. The St. Ed's swing man would bring great leadership, work ethic, and versatility to Columbus if Ohio State was to offer. Nichols told me on Wednesday that he has offers from Dayton, Kent State, and Penn State, while receiving interest from Cincinnati, Clemson, Ohio State, San Francisco, Virginia Tech and Xavier.

Won MVP of the D-I state title game. HS teammate of '16 C Derek Funderburk and AAU teammate of A.J. Harris, Luke Kennard, Kyle Ahrens and V.J. King.
