 Kid has swag for days...I thought I was watching an AND1 mixtape. Seriously, this kid has to at least be top 5 nationally in his class. Size, athleticism, crazy passing skills, and can jump through the rafters. Get both Mitchells to Columbus, the athleticism in that family is off the charts. Any idea if their parents were big-time athletes?

Mitchell's athletic ability is genetic. His father Ken played middle linebacker for the Atlanta Falcons. His mother Candy was a standout tennis player. Even his younger brother Mickey has the genes. Mickey is a 6-foot-7 point guard who is ranked No. 2 in the 2015 class.

"There's a lot of competition in my family," Mike said. "Everybody's athletic and competing. Mickey's a star basketball guy. I just felt like this was my time to shine."

Mickey Mitchell (Texas Titans 2015) ? Mitchell solidified his status as the #1 ranked player in my 2015 top 15. At 6?7? the guard has a combination of skills rarely seen among players his age. He is an excellent athlete most noticeable today with an explosive first step in either direction. While Mitchell is a more than capable scorer once he beats his man, he truly loves to pass and has a unique talent for it. His vision and ability to whip the ball into tight windows are extraordinary and are what separates Mitchell from other wing players. While he does have a tendency to try for the outstanding play when a simple one will do, this is something that he should clean up as he gets older. I?d also like to see him be a little bit more selfish at times because Mitchell could be an elite scorer as well as an elite passer if he chose to be that. Learning to balance getting his own offense with getting offense for his teammates will fuel Mitchell?s development over the next few years

Mickey Mitchell (Texas Titans 2015) ? When you?re the #1 ranked player in your class, the elite of college basketball are sure to come calling and that is clearly the case with Mitchell. He mentioned Duke, North Carolina, Kansas, Indiana, Kentucky, and just about every other blue blood program in the country as schools already involved in his recruitment. Mitchell will have his choice of any college in America once the time comes to make a decision.

Boys of Summer: Mike, Mickey Mitchell have productive few months
BY Kevin Hageland, [email protected]
Published: Friday, August 3, 2012
Many families go on summer vacation.

The Mitchell family is no different in that respect, except of course for the number of places they have been this summer.

"We have been everywhere," said Ken Mitchell, family patriarch. "We went to California, Oregon, Minnesota, Georgia, Nevada, Arkansas, South Carolina ... I think we might have even gone to Antarctica."

Mitchell is kidding about that last destination, but other seemingly tall tales are true.

"The other day I was walking through the house and [Prestonwood Christian Academy senior linebacker Mike] was Skyping with (Ohio State football head coach) Urban Meyer," Mr. Mitchell said.

That is what happens when you have nine children, all of whom have names that start with M, that have combined for nine varsity state championships, 51 youth, state or national AAU titles and 1,200 trophies.

One might think the kids are striving to live up to the accomplishments of their father, a former Atlanta Falcons linebacker. Instead, they are trying to outdo him.

"Not that long ago the boys were being interviewed and they said they were trying to make up for the fact that I wasn't any good in the NFL," Mr. Mitchell said with a chuckle. "I think they are right."

Leading the Mitchell's current athletic charge are Mike and Mickey.
