Purdue just got a commitment from a Top 10 recruit for next year. They were already going to be good next year, but this puts them over Maryland IMO.

Will be a formidable front line, but Maryland is on a different level. Bringing in Diamond Stone, Robert Carter, Rasheed Sulaimon to go along with Layman, Trimble, Dodd, Cevosky and Nickens... that's NCAA a Championship level roster. As a matter of fact, Maryland is the odds on favorite to win the title with Vegas.

No Georgia Tech?

Do you know what year it is?

Duke just lost their best four players, you don't get talent like Okafor, Winslow and Jones to join your team every year even at Duke. IU has everybody back and added a couple guys who could contribute which why they are solidly in preseason top-25s. The ACC has to leave someone out and GT has been a bottom feeder in that league lately.

I've heard the talk of MD possibly being the preseason #1. I hope they are a powerhouse to give the BIG another championship contender, but I'm not sold on them. I think they were overrated this past year. Diamond Stone should be a strong frosh, Sulaimon is a pretty good player even though I've always disliked the guy, but I don't even know who Robert Carter is.

AJ Hammons is a little passive, but a pretty strong player even if he just shows up. Vince Edwards had a strong freshman year but always seemed a bit undersized to me at PF (listed at 6'7" but I would've guessed an inch or two shorter), which is why Swanigan fits so nicely at that spot. Edwards is probably athletic enough to play the 3 spot. Purdon't also has a 4-star frosh guard and a guard transferring in from Texas-Arlington. I don't know how you can expect much from anyone transferring from Texas-Arlington, but he's supposedly a decent player. They should have some depth all around.

Indiana is the only other BIG team that I think could be a national contender next year.

And yet they'll still beat Indiana by 10+....

Personally I feel Coach K is the most overrated coach in all of college basketball. He needs overwhelming talent to have a team that makes it to the F4. I bet they don't beat IU by 10+, not that early in the year with such a young team against a veteran Hoosier squad.

Duke can get practically anyone they want in recruiting, and hadn't made the F4 more than 1 time over a span of 10 tournaments prior to this year, with rosters loaded with McDonald's AAs every year. That is why he's overrated, obviously I had to spell it out to those here who are dense. But thanks for stalking!
