Just sayin': (Young people today might not realize it but), The Harlem Globetrotters were "professional basketball" from the mid 1920s through the early to mid 1950s. In the earliest years of the NBA (1946 - 1950) the Globetrotters often appeared as part of a professional basketball doubleheader with the NBA game following. Back then these games were by far the biggest paydays for the NBA teams and their owners, etc.
