Scout $ - Buckeyes Make Strong Impression on Washington

4/15

By Young....Told by the staff he can commit when he's ready. Releasing a top 10 by his season & says Ohio State is very high on his list. Wants to major in Pre-Med and realizes Ohio State has one of the best medical programs in the country. Will return for Friday Night Lights & at least two games this coming season.

Really, really like this kid. He's got a great blend of power and speed, with really good vision and balance. He's an agressive runner but his vision allows him to miss a lot of the contact he would otherwise get. Cuts it back inside rather than run out of bounds. On top of everything, sounds like he's a bright, intelligent kid (pre-med).

I'd compare him on the field to a rich-man's version of Andre Robinson ('15 RB committed to Penn State) after seeing his film... and Robert's a year younger.

I agree with all you said. But it seems hard for OSU to get kids from NC for some reason. His film looks quite similar to Andre Robinson as well, smooth runner that makes you think he's only a finesse runner and then he lowers his shoulder

Notes:
- Recaps trip to OSU & says he really likes Coach Drayton
- Recaps trip to Tennessee
- Talks about interest from the in-state schools
- Wants to commit before Senior season & wants to graduate early

Seems like a really good & smart kid.

I knw it's still early, but is Washington and McCall fighting for the same position with Hill already committed?
I was thinking along the same lines.

I think Washington is more of a big power back. Along those lines, I see Hill and McCall both as scat backs. Do you guys (film experts) agree? Any chance we can take all three in the same class?

With LJ Scott hopefully (jinx) in the 2015 class filling the need for power backs, I feel taking 3 RBs in 1 class as excessive. Especially if we have Harris to add in the 2015 class. What do you guys think?

I'm not an expert, but I didn't see Washington as a power RB, he's more of an all around RB like EzE. With McCall being a scatback type. But with OSU most likely taking 2 RBs in 2015; whether it's Harris and Scott for example or Harris and Weber, I don't see OSU taking 3 RBs in 2016, when they still will have EzE, Samuel, (I think) Dunn and Ball, as well as Wilson getting some carries. That's almost too much RB depth for a spread oriented team, or many teams in general.

I think we'll take Hill (Buckeye), McCall (might as well be a Buckeye, probably commits at FNL) and a true running back (possibly Washington?) in 2016. Hill and McCall are both slot WRs/scat-backs.

I agree...I think there's room for all three...Hill, McCall and a true running back...but it's still very early...
