I went Barrett. I just have a real hard time believing Braxton's shoulder is going to permit him to throw the football at the requisite level ever again. Even if it is, JT seemed to be very good at everything while Brax and Cardale are great at individual things. Obviously one cannot discount what Jones did when given his opportunity, but there was a reason he was 3rd string when they were all healthy. All that said, I'd have no issue with any of the three getting the nod. I'm glad it's not my decision to make, but it's a good problem to have.

While I personally think 12 Gauge is the better option, I'll say the nod will go to JT just because how well he played from the VT game onward. Obviously 12 Gauge had a 3-game run for the ages, but JT's advantage in game experience is the tilting factor. Still, Jones will get a lot more snaps than your usual second-stringer. In fact, it will be almost a two-QB system...not quite a true two-QB system, but rather 70/30 or 65/35 JT/12 Gauge. I also think that Miller will move to H-back as his arm will never get back to where it was pre-injury.

I agree about Brax-would love to know how many people have him as #3.

Usually I'm not a fan of 2 QB systems, however-in an offense that is rarely under center it isn't as big of a deal. Also, all of the QBs are so experienced that things like mesh points aren't a huge deal.

Also, a "true" 2-QB system rotates the QBs regularly and splits the time between them fairly evenly, giving little chance to develop a sustained flow or continuity...some systems may give more time to one QB than the other mainly based on the opposing defense, especially in the systems with QBs of differing styles (i.e., mobile vs. dropback). In our case, I think it'll be more an instance where JT is a fairly clear-cut starter, with 12 Gauge maybe coming in for a change of pace and then getting significant mop-up time once we build a big lead. So, not really a 2-QB system per se.

Either way it's going to be fantastic. This isn't Germaine/Jackson (yeah, I know) with a cultural divide and strained relationships.

I think Braxton will be used more often in short yardage situations and in the red zone. I think Cardale will be used in most other situations. I think JT will sit out this year and start next season.

Barring injury - strike me down for even mentioning the thought - I think it will be Barrett. Reason? He's the student of the group, the one who understands the philosophy behind the offense and all the reads he must make before the snap.

Can't think of these guys and not think of all the incredible third and long plays they have pulled off the last three years. I wonder if there is a statistic that keeps track of 3rd and more than 5 to go situations and where these three rank in comparison to other QBs. They've got to be near the top if not the actual top.
