Roger Goodell (official thread)

I've been very impressed with his first few months, especially with the personal conduct buisness.

I like the draft thing too. I like watching it, but the first round drags on incessantly. Like we really need 15 minutes to find out who Jacksonville is gonna take with the 19th (or whatever) pick. This year was almost as bad as the Academy awards. Any idea that would give Mel Kiper less television time can't be a bad thing.

Color me impressed. He's sending a message to everyone that he won't put up with any shit.

I do have a problem with his plan to eventually have a Super Bowl outside the country, such as in London. Screw that. A regular season game maybe, but not the damn SB.

Hasn't heard that, link?

I have heard the same thing I will try to dig up a link.

I don't have a problem ovrall yet. The player things needed to be taken care of, since there have been way to many palyers in the news for off turf problems latly. I do like how he seems to have the face to face meeting with the players also.

I just hope he doesn't get to big for his britches and start making changes just to make changes.

hes said that he wants to play a 17th game in Europe/Canada/Mexico. I have not heard about the super bowl.
edit add link: http://www.buckeyeplanet.com/forum/showthread.php?t=598900

also i think hes been over hyped with his good job. when he has to suspend a big name and does so without flinching ill be impressed. Pacman and Henry were easy to do. The first superstar/star will send the message to me...

"Several sources said there is considerable support for doing so [shortening draft time limits]." = ESPN wants a more general-audience-friendly draft production.

I don't really see the point, especially since this was the most-watched draft in sports history.

Goodell: Super Bowl could be held overseas
NEW YORK (AP) NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell said Thursday the league is looking into the possibility of playing a Super Bowl outside the United States, although not before 2012 at the earliest.

It was among a range of proposals he announced the league is considering during a meeting with sports editors two days before the league's annual draft.

Goodell said the three most likely
international sites for a Super Bowl would be London, Toronto or Mexico City because they are in time zones that would allow the game to be televised in the United States at reasonable hours

It says that in the article if BayBuck would have read it.

I did read it (perhaps you'll notice I quoted the article), I just think it's a ridiculous idea catering to the general ESPN audience, when there's clearly already a major contingent of hardcore draft fans willing to spend all day Saturday/Sunday in front of the tube. WTF does the NFL care about ESPN making primetime commercial dollars? The draft is about the teams, not the fans.
