Anybody who bets the Patriots to win this ballgame is loony imo. We saw this same matchup last season in the Super Bowl with the best offense vs. the best defense and it was a beatdown. The strengths of the Patriots are passing the ball and defending the pass. You aren't going to beat the Seahawks by throwing the football. You just aren't. And the Seahawks don't have to win by throwing the ball so New England's good passing defense will be minimized.

Seems like the Patriots have really turned to running the ball to carry them of late. I don't see this as the pass happy teams of 07-2011

They ran the ball against a bad Colts rush defense and couldn't do anything on the ground against a good Ravens rush defense. During the regular season they were below average in both yards gained (which isn't that good if you are a 12 win team who plays from ahead a lot) and yards per carry.

The Seahawks are a very good run defense too. Better than the Ravens. If the Patriots game plan is to try to pound the Seahawks into submission with Lagarette Blount & Jonas Gray all I can say is good luck with that.

The Pack had some damn good success early and often running on Seattle. Teams in the late going of the season have. The loss of Mebane hasn't been easy on the Hawks.

I wouldn't dismiss New England's ability to get yards in between the tackles.

My only interest in most NFL games is if any Buckeyes are on the teams and doing well. We have Ebner on the Pats, any buckeye rooting interest for the Hawks? A quick look at the roster shows no Buckeyes. The Pats are hard to root for 'cause of Brady despite of Ebner. So, yeah, finding it hard to find fucks of which to give.

Have beer (even some Great Lakes Christmas ale from our holiday Ohio trip!), chili, cornbread and hot wings. Hoping I'm plenty drunk before indigestion sets in and the commercials are good.
