Offensive tackle
Scottsdale (AZ) Chaparral
Ht: 6-foot-7
Wt: 272 lbs
Forty: 4.72 secs
Bench max: 325 pounds
Squat max: 465 pounds
Vertical: 31 inches
Shuttle: 4.91 secs
Class: 2009 (High School)

Dad played for Minnesota...but keep an eye on this one for some possible attention soon.

Film: My take: Long, lean and athletic with a whistle to whistle attitude. Competition was average at best but I like what Taylor brings to the table.

We need to accumulate some bodies on that line right now, like we've doing with DBs.
I agree, plus we need some depth at tackle. He seems like a LT-mold of guy. Ran a 4.72 at a Scout camp, so he must be quick. Big kid at 6'7" with Midwest ties. Would be VERRRRY nice to bring a guy like Taylor in as part of a 5 OL class, adding Marcus Hall at RT as well. Seems like we'd have every position then met:

LT: Taylor Lewan
LG: Sam Longo
C: Jack Mewhort
RG: Corey Linsley
RT: Marcus Hall

I am sure that I am in the minority here and I am not sure where I am at for sure, but just to play devils advocate...

If Hall is in which most say he is...

You do lack the true LT unless you look for Longo, but I don't see that...So maybe you do take Lewan if he wants to come here...But with Adams on the roster and hopefully guys like Norwell, James, or maybe Henderson in next years class, you try and spread them out a little bit...

I know some will say that is what got us in the situation that we are in now, but my response to that would be we were only taking 1 or 2 lineman in classes...We took 3 last year and 4 this year, and Ohio looks to be loaded next year again, along with a solid chance at Henderson...

I am not going to say it would be a horrible pickup, and obviously if the staff sees fit to offer him, then I am all for it, but I think we need to find a balance between too many and not enough lineman, and with the talent in 2010 I think 4 in this class would be just fine, unless the really feel the need to land a guy that is a for sure LT guy...

im from the mindset that not having a large enough funnel of kids has resulted in a weakness on the field. if you dont have the inputs you wont get an output. 1 in 3 or maybe even 5 lineman actually produce on the field... we should have more than 13/14 lineman on the team... imo.
