I'll take it as a good sign that no one other than Hardman was ready to hit the door immediately. That would indicate that they're at least talking through what their future looks like in the program with coach before making a decision.
Please, please, please win this thing or at least make it to the final four so we don’t have hear people complain that they should have pushed harder for coach ‘fill in the blank’ for the next seven months.
I'm not saying that Diebler is the right guy, but I'm sure not excited about the options that have been floated out there. Duke, UNC, and Syracuse didn't have a problem keeping it in house with guys that had no head coaching experience. Granted, they coached under greats. There's also a lot...
Smart at Texas: 0.559 non-conference; 0.477 conference; 3 first round NCAA tournament exits
Holtmann at OSU: 0.614 non-conference; 0.508 conference; 3 second round NCAA tournament exits; 1 first round exit
They may both be coaches that do better with less.
I had the same thought. The thing is, firing him before the season is over doesn’t really benefit anyone other than him. I wonder if he repeats $10.5M under his breath every game as he walks out from the locker room.
Penn State knocks off IU by 14 in Bloomington. At least we’re not losing in front of a packed crowd in a hallowed arena. Might as well take pleasure in the pain of others at this point.
Agreed. Neither Key nor Okpara defend the perimeter well, and most teams in the conference have a big that can step out and hit the 3. Mahaffey has also been a pleasant surprise offensively the last few games.
I read through the 'Replacements for Holtmann' thread on 11W and have come to the conclusion that Ohio State is truly not a "basketball school". Some of the names being thrown out there...oh my  There are a couple of reasonable posters, but the rest need to stick to football or not...
There’s been a lot of focus on the poor outside shooting the past month, but our bigs pose no scoring threat inside and do not stretch the defense at all.
