yup and the hedge funs that have effected the home market. reality is hedge funs are so complex that congressmen dont understand them, those who do or care to have issues with who are these investors with this kind of money to effect oil/housing market

let us know when you come back to the real world. we are a country that cannot "cut back" on driving (consuming more gas) - i have to drive 120+ miles per day to get back and forth for work and i'm not alone. what we need is more readily available alternative fuel solutions.

Or a better mass-transit system. I drive a good 70 miles a day to get back and forth to work. I would love to take a train or bus to work, but using the current system, I would be looking at a 2.5 hour trip each direction due to all of the connections I would have to make.

I wonder at what point gasoline because expensive enough to force people to look at mass transit and therefore make it financially appealing for private companies to start establishing lines?

the columbus disgrace had an article noting that columbus was the second largest city without a train/rail system next to phx, who is currently building one.

thats actually a really good idea for companies to adopt as perks for employees. a straight deduction out of your check like insurance.

unfortuantely people like me would never be able to take advantage of it because my hours are so chaotic. i might work till 5pm today. or i might work until 5am tomorrow morning. i won't know until i pull out of the parking lot.

I've heard people gripe about getting one here but with how spread out this city I don't see how it would be very feasible.

Anywhere between $3.50 and $4.00 in NoCal... SF typically has the highest gas prices of the country - which is obviously helpful.
